Great game! Great music. Madman for a villain. And overall a lot of fun to play.

Are there any other games like it?

I've been playing Desert and Jungle Strike over the last few days and they're great. But I just tried Urban Strike and it's terrible. I turned it off after a few minutes. It's barely playable and runs so choppy and slow

Probably the isometric Jurassic Park Lost World game, but I didn't play much of that.

Yeah, play them on the Genesis. Better screen resolution and performance.

Funny you post this here.
Story time & actually on-topic.
Sell the Strike series to me, /vr/.
When I was a kid, my friend at school had a Genesis and kept telling me about Sonic. He would talk about it every day, and I would get really curious about it. One day he invited me to his house and finally I would be able to play this Sonic game. But I don't know why, can't remember what excuse he got, Sonic wasn't there, instead, it was Desert Strike. I remember we played it for some time and I got really bored. Gameplay seemed like a slog on the barren desert map, I remember being very bored.
Eventually I got my own Genesis with Sonic and Thunder Force 3 and loved the fuck out of them. And never played Desert Strike ever again.
Did I have a wrong impression?

Zeewolf and it's sequel Zeewolf 2: Wild Justice. One the Amiga were pretty good. Basically a strike game mashed with Zarch/Virus.

>Sell the Strike series to me, /vr/.
It's a blend of tactics and a decent shoot-em-up.
Latter is self-explanatory, you *usually* fly something and fuck shit up while performing a series of missions. It's fun.
Former comes from the fuel management and partly from the ammo/health management.
Fuel is tight and *known* fuel sources are often insufficient, so you need to plan and explore.
Same goes for ammo and health pickups in form or people, but you need to unload these people in specific locations to actually "redeem" health.
Now that I think about it, it's basically a survival game with a fuel instead of food.

Yeah, resource management is what makes it so good. And destructibility.
