Do you remember getting certain games?

I got Sonic & Knuckles for Christmas the same year I got Super Star Wars and Mario Paint. That was probably one of the best Christmases ever

I begged my parents for a Super Nintendo and Street Fighter II for the better part of a year, it was a comfy Christmas morning waking up early morning, opening it and connecting to the TV while trying not to wake everyone up

Pokemon Blue for Christmas, Pokemon Yellow for my birthday, Pokemon Gold for getting good grades, Phantasy Star Online (for Gamecube) for my birthday, Zelda Wind Waker for Christmas, Zelda Twilight Princess for Christmas, and WoW to play with my friends.

>> No.10657964

Mega Man X, Turok, and FF9 were all Christmas presents. Also GTA3 was the first PS2 game I bought.

I went to the post office while it -20 to get donkey konga only to play it for a week and never touch it again

I remember getting most games. The older I get the more those memories matter. The games themselves are more sentimental than anything.

Lots. I think my fondest memory is going to pick up my Dreamcast and Sonic Adventure on launch day after school. I played the shit out of it for weeks, since it was the only game I had for a while.

Collector's edition of Guild Wars Nightfall. My mum had it waiting in the car after I finished school that day. I love my mum.

I remember a cousin gifting us his N64 with the South Park game on it, but my mom didn't know how to connect it so she just threw both of them out

Never got many as gifts. I remember mum driving me and my brother to some tiny computer store in the country to get a copy of Doom 2 because everywhere else was sold out, though. It was worth it.

I remember getting a Sega Genesis with Sonic 1 and Castlevania Bloodlines for christmas when I was three. What a year. I also have very fond memories of going to rental game stores with my dad and bonding with him over Comix Zone.

On a less wholesome big chungus 100 note, I also remember pestering him over getting me Bubsy Claws Encounters of the Furred Kind because I saw it on a magazine and it had great reviews.
How easily kids are bamboozled by industry hawks, eh?

I remember the best Christmas I ever had
>Sister and I got GBAs
>I got a purple one with Crash Bandicoot XS (Literally the only game I cared about, I loved Crash Bandicoot), Inspector Gadget and Moto GP).
>She got a silver one with the Salt Lake City Olympics game, Dinotopia and something else I can't remember
>Finish opening presents
>Parents point to one last box hidden behind the tree, addressed to both of us
>PS2 with Crash WoC, Jak & Daxter, Donald Duck, Rocket Power & the Britney Spears game with dancemat
God that was a great year. My parents must've been selling drugs or something.

My grandma got me Q*bert for Christmas in 1993, I happened to play it for a few minutes today actually.
I remember getting some Sonic game, but on the car ride home, my mom realized it was for the wrong system and told me not to open it so she could return it later, so I just checked out the box art the whole time instead. It was probably a Game Gear game, and she had meant to pick out a Genesis one.
Banjo-Kazooie is the first game I specifically remember looking forward to buying based on the TV commercials for it. I got it for my birthday a few weeks after it came out.

There was one year where I didn't get much. I got some socks and a few outfits but nothing I asked for and nothing to play with. Mom and dad didn't have any money and I'm pretty sure what I did get that year was through some kind of donation drive for needy families. I wasn't unthankful or anything but it really sucks to go back to school and hear all the other kids talk about the amazing shit they got when you didn't get anything to play with.

But grandma came through. She bought me Kirby and the Amazing Mirror and it was the best thing ever. I love that game and I love my grandma.

The first game that comes to mind is my aunt giving me World's Scariest Police Chases for the PS1 for my ninth birthday.

I have borderline autistic memory where I can remember how I acquired almost any I have - whether it was a purchase or a gift, where I received it, the general timeframe, who I was with and in some cases, even the fucking weather.
Honestly it helps me “anchor” my memories so I’m glad I can do this.

Yeah, really. I got exposed to vidya very early, what with mum being a tetris addict and my sister playing SMB3 all afternoon.
