The only thing I don't like about Yellow Devil is that it's a really tedious fight. I re-learn the pattern and get it down after a fight or two, but it takes like two or three minutes to beat him. For a boss with only one form, that's an eternity.

You see, at level 42 he learns Elixir, a magic that restores his MP and HP to full, the problem is, since the developers of that game were a bunch of sadistic brain-damaged assholes, that he restore himself to full AFTER he spent the MP to cast the magic, making him pratically immortal to anything that doesn't one-shot him.
Choosing the wrong character at the start and making him an enemy of yours is a sure-fire way to make the game unwinnable.

The blue Iron Knuckle boss in Zelda 2.

Sure, you may know of the jumpslash technique and then it's a bit easier, but he still backs off out of the screen and requires a bit of practice while the enemies you've encountered so far can be outrunned and the bosses have both been just "jump and hit them in the head" before it.

Just wait until you get to the second quest. I forgot if it was level 4 or 5, but one is chock full of the skulls that remove your sword until you touch the right color skull or the triforce. There are 0 of the needed colored skulls in the area, and good fucking luck fighting through with just bombs and maybe the bow and arrow if you have it. Neither hurts an enemy you need to beat? Well, shit, guess you are fucked.

And that's when I lost my desire to finally finish the second quest of Zelda. Also killed my desire to play LoZ ever again really. I tried Zelda BS the other day and quit after 30 seconds when I realized how close it was to LoZ.
