I'm still waiting for Anbernic to release something with dual boot Linux, hall sensors, 5.0" and OLED screen.

The RG505 could have been great instead of just okay. They always cut a corner or make a design choice that keeps them from making a truly killer handheld. I play with it a few times a week, and using GrapheneOS helps a lot for battery life and performance. They would be more popular if Chinese people cared to tweak Android better. so theres a lot of misconception and hate for the sf2000 for some reason, so i thought id clear it up...

It does gb, gbc, nes and md\sms perfectly. snes is almost perfect and only slows down when theres a heap of shit on the screen (similar to the actual console). gba is pretty fucking dogshit though...things like mario advanced and all the dkc ports are unplayably slow (but things like pokemon and sim city 2k work fine). the "modified firmware" adds a heap of other retro systems which all work near perfectly (pc engine, segaCD, gamegear, atari, c64, etc). the few mame games i have tried also seem to work perfectly (not a big fan of mame).

for reference, i have 100% dkc 2 and megaman x2 on it (mmx2 was basically flawless with 4 small graphical glitches in the whole game, which is down to the emulator, and dkc2 had slight slowdowns when there were a heap of sprites onscreen, which is the same as on a real console).

if all you want to do is play pre-ps1 consoles, then this is perfect. dont listen to the trannies that say to spend another $50 and get something that does the same but with partial ps1 support (unless u actually want to play ps1)

From what I can tell this connects to a PC purely via USB. Although the grey cartridge is a separate plastic piece, it's just there for cosmetic reasons and I don't think it can actually be removed, it's just a neat detail they did like being able to rotate the PlayStation logo on most (if not every single) PS2, PS3, and PS4 model to orientate it whether you're resting it it tower mode or normal mode.

The red knight is a piece of shit, but reliable if the battery doesn't die 2 weeks in. The flydigi wee2t has better buttons but you need to use that cancerous app or be rooted to switch controller modes as it's not set to xinput as default. Daqi M1 has slightley better buttons than the ipega, but just as bad input delay and cross buttons. Daqi made a newer controller with better bluetooth, but the dpad looks fucked and it's currently unknown what the button combo is for switching modes. I recommend either the ipega or the m1 if you can one cheap and unused

People are reporting issues with some games, and how not every game runs flawlessly. But isn't the "point" of FPGA that it's 100% accurate? if FPGA implementation can have varying results, doesn't that make it just as fallible and "inauthentic" as standard emulation?

I was really looking forward to it and planned to buy it, but 50% of the PS2 library is unplayable on it and it gets 1 hour of battery life playing them. To the anon who suggested the "white edge remover fluid" in the other thread a week or two ago, thank you for the tip!
It worked perfectly. I did have to reapply a new screen protector, because the adhesive had dried out on the edges, making some small bubbles impossible to remove.
But it got rid of any bubbles that remained on the new protector.

Well some don't actually ignore it, they just dont use it at all. What they do is use a hash check sum of the game to determine what game and version it is during the scraping process and figure out the the game's "short name" during the scraping process and use that instead.
