every koijma game is openly derivative of film and fiction tropes. i'm not saying he's a hack because he borrows ideas, i'm just saying he's a game developer and not a visionary writer. read harlen ellison or any of the science fiction written during the first half of the latter century. I have no Mouth "predicted" grimly humankind's impending dependence on machinery; there are myriad stories written even before the first video game was made, which make such predictions or draw fantastical scenarios from which many later tales take their inspiration.

Because it's not AI doing it, it's governments doing it, and they aren't actual AI's, they're a type of Machine Learning. Secondly, every last iota of a nanosecond of techno gobblety-gook that Kojima typed in MGS2 wasn't just semantically wrong, it was factually and objectively wrong. I mean for fucks sake, he didn't even get the year the US became a country correct.

MGS2 is the game which brainlets point to and go "WOAH, HOLY COW MAN, THIS GAME PREDICTED EVERYTHING!" without understanding, ironically, the "context" of everything the "AI" in the game is saying, or why what it's saying is completely fucking retarded.

I know the translator is the real genius behind Kojima, but even she had trouble rationalizing and translating Kojima's beyond-fucked-up and retarded plotholes, gaps in logic, and completely bizarre thought-processes of the actual storyline. Nothing in it makes sense, AT ALL. MGS1 was the furthest Kojima got to a credible and coherent storyline, but even that was filled with a bunch of absolutely bonkers-stupid storytelling you'd expect only from the worst Roger Corman movies.

You got tom Clancy, Harlan Ellison, James bond all mixed into a John carpenter esque Japanese style craziness. Another good one that predicted shit is Harrison bergeron from Kurt Vonnegut iirc. I'm nta, but mgs2 did "predict" how a.i. and automation would control the worlds historical narrative. >Similar to how Google, Facebook, reddit, etc... are doing that exact thing and the advent of worthwhile a I. Is all to striking with kojimas fictional world.
No, it's not similar at all. Modern "AI" is essentially heuristics programming taken to its logical extreme. We have yet to see AI. Furthermore, that is not what Google and Facebook are doing. There are people specifically behind the scenes there monitoring and configuring their algorithms to influence people, using listening software and meta-data in search history to influence your behavior in regards to what news stories you see and what advertisements are recommended to you. None of it has anything to do with "writing history", it all has to do with feeding you a self-isolating input of your own machinations.

>"Predicts" in quotations, because it's still just a videogame narrative, it just happened to hit the nail on the head.
No, it didn't. As I stated in the previous paragraph, it was completely 100% off, unless you're so clueless about the current state of AI that you just conjecture about generalizations you hear about in pop culture, thinking that the singularity is near, when it isn't, or that AI is self-maintaining and autonomous, which it isn't, or that it's capable of acting on its own interests, which it isn't. There are tests with those approaches, but they are far removed from actual practicality.

>get a fucking grip
Like-wise, you ape-brained stooge. You sound like a retard, and the fact you can't lay into the specifics further grounds my belief you have zero clue what the fuck you're talking about and likely saw Kojima who was ripping off Dawkins.

I will admit, I found his inclusion of Dead Cell (A clear reference to the team Red Cell, led by Richard Marcinko) amusing, but other than that, all of MGS2 was nothing but retarded bullshit meant to dazzle pseuds, like you.
