Thought this might be a good idea for a thread

>What are you currently playing?
Road Rash for Sega/Mega-CD

>Thoughts? Opinions?

A few of main gripes are:

1) There are no longer individual bike upgrades as if it were a downgrade back to RR2

2) Putting it on the Sega CD was a grave mistake since the 32X had far more horsepower. (or they could have just made the port one of those one off "32X CD" games and it probably would have been nearly identical to the PSone, 3DO, and Saturn versions)

3) The game is barely any different from RR3. It would have been better if they had just made an entirely new game instead of making a half assed port

4) You have to use "left or right" on the directional pad in order to hit one of your opponents that's riding alongside you like in RR2
A few things I like about it:

1) Great music

2) Nice looking hud with fantastic looking overly exaggerated caricatures

3) You start fresh each level with no weapons like in RR2. So if you get one the previous level that you didn't want, you don't have to worry

Die Hard Arcade co-op on Saturn (writing this while friend is taking a shit)

>Thoughts? Opinions?
1.Really surprised by the weapon selection. The anti-tank gun thing is so much fun to use.
2.Annoyed by the lack of credits. If you die,you have to start over (2nd time trying to go through the game)
3.The quick-time event part in between levels is fun but pointless. it was hilarious though when this young girl came out from the corner and i roundhouse kicked her in the face

Pretty Fun co-op game

Generations Lost on the Genesis

It's okay. Ronery platformer with lots of exploration and and not much action. Looks bland but has a nice little sci-fi mystery plot. Kinda like Another World except with more conventional platforming mechanics than cinematic platformers usually have.

The mega man NES series.
trying to beat 3 at the moment. my NES is starting to crap out again, so, I'm gonna buy a new 72-pin before i continue.

>Thoughts? Opinions?
mega man 1 was fucking annoying.
mega man 2 is one of my all time favorite games.
Regardless of how annoying I felt mega man 1 was, it was nice to beat it, and I felt accomplished afterwards.

The NES Mega Man games because >>1057130 made it look like so much fun. Currently on 3 myself.

>Thoughts? Opinions?

1 wasn't even close to being the hardest, 3 is much harder IMO. It's really kicking my ass. The only sticking point in 1 was the Yellow Devil, and even that guy didn't cost me more than 10~20 minutes.

Front Mission 1 (SNES)

>Thoughts?
I haven't really got very far, and I don't know much. I started up the second mission without changing any of my equipment around, I think I should've planned a bit better.

I wish I had a manual or something, some of the stuff isn't explained very well in the translation.

this game really needs a remake with simultaneous multiplayer

I am playing X-Com. It is a great game, but psi is too broken towards the end.

Replaying Final Fantasy 9 on the playstation.

Amazing game. The story is much better than I remembered, and the atmosphere is still incredible. I wish they'd focus on making the combat more smooth, rather than amazing graphics. Oh well, what can you do. Also fuck summons.

Mother 1 - The world is big and quite impressive but it is kinda a little too big. I gave up searching for presents on the overworld as I doubt there are any hidden away and it is just a big empty area. Kinda remind me of Daggerfall in that sense. Why have a big world if there is nothing in it? I do enjoy the game and like how to auto mode actually use healing skills and items as necessary. Neat for an old game to do that. I kinda got into that "I don't wanna play anymore" mood when I reach Duncans Factory. I know there gotta be loops going on somewhere, I just have to map them out. I don't want to cheat by using a pre-made map.

LSD Dream Emulator - I don't see the big deal as the game isn't really all that random. I still doing a day or two once in a while just to see the game glitch out by me using save states and not manual saves.

F-Zero X - Haven't got started yet. I need to set up my controls but never got around to actually doing it.

Zelda - Completed the first dungeon and now have to find the 2nd. I feel like I am dieing way too often as I already have over 11 deaths on that file. The overworld seem more deadly then the dungeons themselves. Overall I am enjoying myself though I wish bombs were more common.

It might be that I had an easier time because I watched the GCCX Mega Man episode several times and I already internalized the rough pattern, making it much easier.

Pilotwings 64

I just started a new file so I don't have all the bonus games yet but the game still holds up well. The hang-gliding is my least favorite though. It is already hard enough to get all the rings in a timely manner but the landing is really hard and can just kill your score at the end. Gyrocoppter and jetpack are still a lot of fun though. The music is great and they did a good job with the weather/atmosphere conditions.

For the record OP, I love Road Rash. My favorite version is the Saturn one (port of the Sega CD version, but a bit more cleaned up) Anyway...

>Currently playing
Phantasy Star 2

>Thoughts
I literally just started it up. I've never played a Phantasy Star game besides PSO, and am pretty interested in it so far. I heard it's really grindy, and I'm debating replacing the save battery in it before I get in too deep

>What are you currently playing?

Megaman: Wily's Revenge (sometimes known as Megaman I) for the Game Boy.

>Thoughts? Opinions?

Ugh, I'm not having as much fun as I did with the NES games. Right now I'm at the Enker stage, and I'm just having trouble with it. Enemy placement isn't as good, but the bosses are rather easy.

There are some things I like so far, though. While I often hear complaints, I think the music is a decent adaption of the NES music and I enjoy hear a more minimalistic version of it. I also like that you can switch weapons after using Ice Slasher; it actually makes the weapon useful.

Huh, what a coincidence. The series gets better in my opinion, though I'm in the minority in believing that; a lot of people don't care for for MM6, but it's my favorite. It does dip in quality a bit for 7 and 8, though that's also subjective.
