Mario is really annoying because for some reason, Mario fans have this pretentious notion where they think they're playing really high class, masterful games on a level beyond all others when it's far from that.

Zelda is basically just overdiscussed with lorefags in a series with hardly any real lore to be so obsessed with, Mega Man is similar but not as overrepresented.

Worst thing I can say about Sonic comes from generation warring where nu-fans clash with the OGs. But, there are games who have this a lot worse, like Pokemon and Castlevania. And now that I think about it, Zelda too since in recent years OOT/MM and onward fans who have a real hateboner for 2D Zelda started popping up.

There's always been a hunger for nintendo game lore but nintendo always has the same philosophy of being anti world building and (mostly) anti story so the simple gameplay can triumph. I used to be a metroid lore person as a teen but I quickly realized nintendo will never care and any potential will be wasted. At least put fucking wario in more games
