Did you know N64 has actual edge based AA? It's more appreciable when you turn off the bilinear filter nearly every game uses.

I instead downsample them from a high resolution. This allows me use antialiasing without losing detail while keeping a cohesive low-res look that doesn't reveal the low quality models and textures. Oh, wait... you're disabling AA for performance reasons because you're using hardware. Uh, yeah, I think I'll pass on that.

Solved entirely by emulation. Unfortunately, even emulation can't stop N64 games from looking like blurry garbage. No console has aged worse.

Its nice to have the option to disable it in games like Quake 1 N64, but at the same time it's something I'm not going to bother modding my console over.
