What are some other Punch-Out clones?

GBA is the most soulless Nintendo console of all time.

OK, memeboy I'm inclined to agree to a degree, because it's part of 6th gen, which shouldn't have been allowed on /vr/, but GBA still has some soulful games however. Know of any other Punch-Out clones?

Counter-Punch on the GBA is pretty fun. Not retro but Rage of the Gladiator is cool.

I don't care if it's /vr/ or not, it SUCKS Try Teleroboxer, the true Punch-Out 3.

>> No.10552470

>>10552437
I like the GBA.
But yeah I've already played Teleroboxer, beat the champion and all, awesome game.

The ear grading sound certainly doesn't do it any favors.

>> No.10552740

it's a cheap trash game, lot of palate swaps, hideous artstyle, lazy difficulty. THAT SAID I did like a few of the changes it made to the punchout formula like requiring left right differentiation. It's ok.
It's sort of lost media in there being no online manual rip and it never being a big enough game to get any kind of guide material, so you won't really know how to play it unless you have the physical manual.

The only soulful games on the GBA that weren't remakes or Pokemon were metroidvanias, the rest of the console was shovelware.
It's only competitor in soullessness is the Wii, but that's not retro

Ok man, I never played any Pokemon or remakes on GBA, but I loved Astro Boy Omega Factor, Dragon Ball Advanced Adventure and Drill Dozer, among many others. The Fire Emblem games were great too.

You sound like a zoomer who wants to cash on the "soulless" meme, but fail at it from your flawed zoomer perspective. You weren't alive during the soul era (pre-2000)

I was alive and the target audience, and most of the GBA library was shovelware, and the initial screen was so dark, everything was unplayable until the GB player came along.

Yeah, nah you weren't alive. Have you heard of worm lights son? Google it, find a video on youtube, post a meme about it and then come back here when you're in your 20s.

>> No.10553291

Well your opinion is at odds with 99.9% of others. Having your opinion is fine, but it's not what the vast majority of people have experienced with the GBA. And frankly usually when everyone says something and there's one kid who is contrairian against it their opinion is based on arbtirary or foolish reasons that have little relation to reality.

Maybe, like most popular systems. It still has some really good games.
Anyway, are you gonna help naming more Punch-Outlikes or you're just gonna shitpost?

It was playable, the bigger issue is that light tended to wash things out to such an extent that it often felt like you might as well have been playing in monochrome.
