I beat it ages ago before it was a "thing" in the west (like Znyggy). It was in a ROM collection and I thought it was some kind of homebrew because it was at most half an hour long and the UI was just barebones numbers in the middle of the screen.

>The magazine quickly transitions from casual discussions of video games and guides, to borderline illegal practices of suspicious "drug" dealings, piracy, hacking, and whatever of illegal interest found in the communities back then. It's genuinely a bizarre sight as among the innocent video game content lies disturbing articles and ads, such as Mr. Kurosawa's (of Hong Kong 97 infamy) shock value section, and advertisements for an extremely bizarre "do it at home" foreskin removal tool. (Yes, you read that right) This magazine did not attempt to sugar-coat gore, scat, and other bizarre paraphilia, and neither did it try to filter its advertisements.

Yes, it's psychotic but kino. There was a section about how to hack and loot ATM machines after an earthquake that happened a week prior. Also a guy cosplaying as Shoko Asahara right after the sarin gas attacks, and a review of a GG Allin concert

I've only done one path, but it's a very enjoyable game. I hate what they've done with Kawase recently.
Maybe I read the series wrong but throughout all of them I loved the dream-like weirdness to the levels and their backgrounds. New one just made it a very generic adventure and tried to have a plot.

Nah, that's exactly what I feel too. Maybe it's just the low budget and assets they had then, but it's very surreal. The newer ones just feel like cash grabs
