If you're not using these emulators by the end of the year, you're never gonna make it.

I don't think there is a Windows frontend for Genesis Plus GX or PicoDrive except for RetroArch. Might as well just do everything through ares if you go that route.

Thanks, I check out at least that one.

It has the annoying behaviour of putting save files right next to your ROMs, anyway.
Wish standalone emulators could've been standardised to write save data to a dedicated saves directory in the user folder. Writing shit to the same folder as the ROM is such an archaic practice.

From the CWCki:

>Issues
On Windows 8.0 and later, an incompatibility issue (related to DirectDraw support in these operating systems being further deprecated) causes the emulator to drop frames, or freeze entirely in the case of Windows 10 and later, when attempting to switch to fullscreen mode. However, this can be easily fixed by right-clicking on Fusion.exe > Properties > Compatibility > check "Disable Fullscreen Optimizations."

Kega Fusion also suffers issues with 32X timing and graphical deficiencies, though does have proper volume levels unlike Gens, which has higher compatibility but has worse sound emulation.

While it supports Sega CD emulation, there is notable audio sync issues. Kega is not recommended for CD emulation.

Fusion's issues are basically all age problems caused by modern OS', it's a fantastic emulator bordering on wizardry for its time and still better at 32x than its modern alternatives, for what that's worth. It's just a shame it wasn't kept functional.
