Try emulating first, if that doesn't work, just buy an RG Arc or Nvidia Shield for the same price. No Pseudo Saturn or Fenrir necessary

I know I said I wouldn't do this again but I think the Saturn might have sold better if: 1- The add-ons weren't released, although it would make Sega have a slightly rougher transition into the next generation.
2- The extra cartridge slot allowed for Genesis games to be played, while removing some obscure features like non-CD-ROM/Music playback and the extra battery.
3- Continuation of part 2, the extra Genesis hardware could have also allowed for easier Saturn development at the cost of some graphical fidelity.
4- The restructuring of development teams to focus more on the Saturn at the cost of some Genesis games (Example: Sonic Team isn't split making 2 and CD combine on the Genesis and Saturn Nights releasing at launch).
5- If the Saturn continued their schedule and released around the same time as the PlayStation in America.
6- This is an extra but it would be cool if the Sega Channel was remodeled to support the Saturn through the use of a CD whilst adding some extra features.

Remember the Saturn was the successor to the 32X, not the Genesis. The CDX has a lot of what's listed here, including the Genesis cart slot in the back. It is basically a SEGA CD in the style of a Saturn. Plus it had Sonic and Ecco as pack-in titles.

Guys, I just bought my first Saturn and ordered a Pseudo Saturn Kai! Am I Saturn now? :3

I've wanted it for a long time. Finally came across one for sale in person. Anything else I should know about it? It came with 4 controllers, but none of them are the 3D controller, should I get one?

>Anything else I should know about it?
If you're using burned discs, you should know that they're pretty hit-or-miss. It's easy to fuck up the burn process and depending on the disc it won't load music or stop reading the disc entirely during load times. Burn a new disc if you run into these issues.
You can buy reproductions (picrel example) which look great but they're not exempt from these issues either. Most of the repros I've bought work fine though.
The easiest way to play is to buy a Fenrir or Satiator which let you play ISOs off an SD card but they're ridiculously priced, the latter is $260.
>should I get [a 3D controller]?
As far as I know it's pretty much optional, so you don't really need it. 3D and racing (it has triggers) games do benefit though

non-exclusive? Mega Man X4 (best version is on Saturn, more content)

5th gen in general wasn't as good for platformers as 3rd and 4th gen.
But it got one great side-scroller in the form of Goemon's Great Adventure at least.
For Saturn I'd recommend Clockwork Knight 1 and 2. Not amazing or anything but they have a lot of charm.

I think the N64's selection of platformers is ok with a few standouts, but PS1 covers platformers extremely well. X4 and MM8 are probably the best platformers on the console, but unfortunately it didn't get many pure platform games. I'd consider Taromaru to be an action game.

Same with Mega Man games, especially X4.
I think Goemon is the one with the most pure platforming (while also having action, in a lot of ways, GGA feels like a Castlevania
Mega Man also on Saturn

>Were even planing on somehow port VF3 to it
VF2 already had to be downgraded by removing the 3D backgrounds among other things and that was only a Model 2 game. A Model 3 game like VF3 would have to be either downgraded to Saturn VF2 levels, or would need the "accelerator cartridge" they ended up cancelling (but then you'd get into 32x retardedness all over again)

It was already expensive enough without grafting on an entire genesis. Also, the genesis hardware is completely worthless to the Saturn, it would contribute nothing except being able to run genesis games.

Croc is good beside this forum hate against that game.
I beat on psx, so, should be good on saturn too.
