Friend and I started building a replica of Kings Island, our home park. Gonna take some time but will post here if ever finished lol

We are going to try and implement as many rides as historically possible, so the park won't be from one specific period in history, but currently-extant rides will get priority for location. However we do plan to include demolished rides either at or near their original location, or in a "hall of fame" in a currently unused part of the park IRL. If a ride is redundant with a modern equivalent then we won't be including it (mostly will apply to flat rides)

Anyone got tips for building replica parks like this? I am going off of one grid = 12 feet for scale. Process so far is looking like:
-Measure out and build paths
-Mark key areas with fence or placeholder props until we get all or most of the paths done
-Work from the entrance toward the back of the park which is more disused
-Fill in details once most of the rides are built, focusing on anything low first and then working on higher stuff later, so high stuff doesn't block the views of lower stuff.

It'll be on a 999x999 so should have some room for expansion.

Anyone got pics of replica parks for inspiration?

That vortex is visually gorgeous but the mid course brake run should do a 180 not just a 90 and then the corkscrew should go through the two loops instead of in front of them.
I have a Vortex model already done, as well as Invertigo and Firehawk.
I also built Diamondback and Orion but I used the new steep to flat pieces from OpenRCT2 and can't save the track files now so I'll have to rebuild them in park.

We also are not going to use any custom assets like your picrel. They look great but I don't want to have anyone not be able to open the park or anything. Just stuff that's in the main games and the expansions is fair game.

Here's a pic of my Vortex model so far. It's not 100% perfect, there's already a couple things I need to change like the orientation of the photo purchasing counter building, but Vortex was my favorite ride at KI so I spent a lot of time trying to get it right. It might have some further detailing once I actually plop it down into the map. I went for actually a brown color for the rails not orange to try and show some age/fade

inb4 no giant screenshot. fuck it. I will dump some designs.

>>10485694
I'll try to remember to post a file somewhere if we actually get it done. It's going very slow so far but we have Invertigo, Viking Fury, Congo Falls, and the Carousel all placed in the map and the outline for Coney Mall's main strip has been placed, as well as the footprint for Boo Blasters has been traced out. The main International Street pool and side paths are placed, and the circle path under the Eiffel tower is down. Friend is doing the Eiffel tower in a separate workbench because I said no tall bulky shit until we detail small items first so shit isn't blocking the view. Tower will probably be like the last thing to get placed.

Orion. Already been modified with more block brakes because it crashed after 4 years of testing on my workbench park. I haven't done the station building either for it. Just the track. I haven't ridden Orion as extensively as I have Diamondback or Vortex so I'm not as intimately familiar with the little details.

Firehawk. ignore the footpath that has nothing to do with the model KI park just decided to open my workbench park to guests to get some testing with guests on the ride and run them for several years to try and let them crash if they're going to so I can fix the issues before using them in a real park.

Again haven't done the station building yet but should be pretty simple.

So on the reverse lift hill if you build it just normally, for whatever reason it builds the hill with no supports which looks weird even in a game I'm not tryharding in for looks, no idea why it does that

the blue supports I added using poles to try and make it look like it has some support, and the real one has a horizontal support roughly in that area. I couldn't find any more suitable props in the stock game that would make better supports so it's the best I could come up with for now.

The real coaster also has the hills sort of go together at a 15ish degree angle to each other, not parallel, which wasn't possible to replicate in the stock game either.

then I'll do the outskirts like soak city and area 72 and finish the part of action zone that goes to The Bat then I can finally start building the smaller rides and doing some detailing I think

Friend finished the tower.
I think he did a killer job on it.
Problem is now he's having trouble saving the track design in the game file he made it in. Anyone ever ran into this? It's saying the track design is too large, contains too many elements, or scenery is too spread out.

Is the intent to play this map this weekend, next weekend (before Christmas), or on both weekends to fill it all out?

I'd personally support the third option.

Soulful, although I question the safety in high speed turns and airtime on a log flume.

>They look great but I don't want to have anyone not be able to open the park or anything
Customs scenery is exported with the park. There are many reasons to stay away from CSO but compatibility issue is not one of them. If you're using OpenRct2 that's a way bigger issue since vanilla is unable to open the .park files.

In his defence, that's a default task for janitors in RCT1. They didn't set the option to initially be disabled until 2. I think. So it may not be his fault.
