Been playing my Japanese Saturn with a fenir duo and I notice the Saturn gets hot fast, does the Saturn overheat? should I get a upgraded PSU right away or should I not worry about it and get one when the time comes.

I had a PAL Saturn and never had any issues with overheating. What I did have was an issue where the hard drive just died one day, so watch out for that. Still worked fine with a 3rd party memory card.

you should be fine even if it does overheat. the PSU will die but your Fenir will be fine so just upgrade to a pico after that. Don't know about Gdemu though, heard those can get fucked up though, not too sure

I'll admit right now that I'm quite biased on this, but it's one of my favorites for the simple fact of it doing 3D Sonic quite decently, while also being in the style of the time, similar to Super Mario 64 and Banjo-Kazooie, also Crash Bandicoot, where collecting things is a huge focus, on levels that'll feel open, but not too open to the point where I might get lost, they're fun to explore as you look for the flickies and Tails/Knuckles for a change of 100% completion. It's a blast (Ha! Get it?) to play.

P.S. Sonic R's worth if for the OST alone, even if it's quite jank for a racing title, it's still one I'll go back to from time to time, even if it's just for the nostalgia. (Can you feel the sunshine, OP?)

I ended up getting a really crusty saturn from japan that's caked in dust on the inside. The screen jitters when the disc is being read and the power supply gets quite warm.

Hopefully cleaning out the dust from the inside will fix these issues.

While this should have been the case, it's probably more comparable to the SEGA ST-V which was their arcade board at the time. Genesis and Saturn are really two different beasts. Yes. It’s what I grew up with and still play. It of course lacks transparencies like the ps1 version but the exclusive fighting(?) mode unlocked after beating it is really good. It’s Resident Evil! Of course it’s fun. You should try it if you like the the Saturn and RE1. And some claim that the backgrounds are better.

You can also just get the remixed ps1 version with the unedited movies with Chris smoking and the chewed off hand with pistol in the intro movie (in color too).

Sakura Wars 1 and 2 are great though only 1 is in English right now. The Columns spinoff is fun too, and you can play the main mode with minimal trouble even if you can't speak Japanese.
