...is a LIGHT that can cut THROUGH THE DARKNESS when humanity conforms to a single truth...

I loved this, it was really the 1st time in a Spider-Man video game where it felt exactly like that, instead of a video game with Spider-Man in it as a set of sprites, the only title before this one that I can think of that did Spider-Man justice was Spider-Man vs. The Kingpin, but the addition of the 3rd dimension makes a huge difference here... it's still stellar to play even nowadays.

I hated getting 100% in this one though, due to the Quick-Change suit requiring 10.000 points in the Zipline Training to unlock... it took me 20 years of trying, I'm not kidding, it was miserable.

I really enjoyed the GBC version too, though the flying enemies and the cryptic sewer areas, also the mediocre controls and jumping, hindered my enjoyment of it quite a bit... still good though.

Pretty much the first actually good superhero game, yeah. Not just a generic beat em up with a superhero coat of paint.

I wouldn't go that far, there were many Batman video games at the time that did the character a lot of justice, mainly the ones based on the 1989 film, my favorites being the NES and Genesis, I also recall Batman Returns being very good for the Master System and again feeling a lot like the character... but yes, there were tons of beat 'em ups for super heroes at the time... like, A LOT.

Spider-Man himself had the Spider-Man vs. The Kingpin titles I've mentioned, which feel like the character should, it's just that 3D adds so much to Spider-Man specifically, this was a huge deal.

Also, the CD technology and generational leap allowed for tons of content and a premium feel to it, things like alternative suits and movie like story cutscenes, it was all mind blowing then.

Spider-Man 2: Enter Electro bros... what went wrong? Why isn't /our/ title as quotable as its predecessor? It did so many things right too, I loved how it actually had web on Spider-Man's costume, and the web wings from his 1st ever costume aswell... the moody atmosphere's an actually welcome addition too, thanks to that stellar OST and art direction. I really loved it...

Because it's worse. Levels, enemies, setpieces, it's all terrible in comparison. At least it has a 9/11 version.
