A classic that often goes overlooked for some reason. It's still really fun to play, especially if you've got someone to play with you aswell...

I tried playing it with my GF, but it was couple of weeks after she had her house actually robbed, so she didn't like it much since it reminded her of what had happened, as it was a pretty traumatic experience for her. I really dropped the ball on that one... real life robbers are absolute cunts.

It's always funny squashing the guards with doors. Very slapstick game in general, love it.

more people need to play the pc engine version. it came out later so has some benefits

I believe that the game is at its best with a friend. The sms version is made with solo playing in mind but it's a different game, up to guards behaviour.
Pce cd seemed by far the best one.

I've never played this version, always assumed it was just like the Genesis one, but without multi-player in it, what are the other differences exactly? Is the single-player experience better than in the Genesis one?

I don't think it is better, guards seem to be less aware in general, you can run around shield guys without alerting them in ways that are impossible in other versions for example.
To balance things, the stun gun range is much shorter.
The levels are different too so I think it is worth a play, but as I said I believe that the pce cd version is the definitive one.
