Can /vr/ recommend me any good mythical warrior sidescroller games? Preferably where you're a barbarian or mage fucking an array of mythical monsters up. Pics related Rastan and Lord of the Sword.

Black Tiger/Dragon is one of the better arcade titles of the late 80s. You really can’t go wrong with any of Capcom’s fantasy action games.
Crossed Swords for Neo Geo is a first person (?) esque sword fighting game sorta in the vein of the arcade version of Punch-Out! by utilizing the wire frame behind the back player character. Very interesting game and worthy of a play through, but definitely not for everyone. Enemies and obstacles jump in on you and you gotta beat their asses

You're braindead, it's better and longer than all of those combined. I do like Rygar (NES), but it's a "jankfest", enemies are constantly blinking because it's trying to do too much.

Such a great game to begin with but then a few stages in (bottom left in your image) the game decides that you've played enough and the enemies are tanks that take too many hits to kill and you've got no chance unless you just credit feed.
The NES Willow is decent though.

I don't know what's crazier, how good this game looked for 1989, or the fact *I never fucking heard of it* till the 2010s. When to arcades a lot and never, ever saw this.

Golden Axe, King of Dragons, and Shadow over Mystara

And those seem to fit the style of what OP asks for a lot more than Castlevania. Which does not feature any playable barbarian or mage until Rondo of Blood.

>> No.10411789

>>10411730
Are we sure OP meant beat em ups to? I was under the impression by warrior sidescroller's he meant single plane action games with some hacking n slashing and some platforming. Not beat em ups. Even if he didn't though, the best CV games are still better than your list.
