i never really liked basketball, but nba jam was amazing. i dont think ive ever played another basketball game, but it was one of my favorite games of the 90s. i find rts games overwhelming and have never really been interested in them, but i did play a fair bit of warcraft 2, but i always used the onscreen cheat to reveal the entire map. other than that i played normally but still dont think i ever beat either of the campaigns. i had fun playing it but for some reason those types of games are just too daunting. im not a fan of multitasking/resource management. post your examples of games you like from genres you dont normally like

I usually dislike sports games, but NBA Jam was always mad fun. I found myself enjoying most tennis games on PC and console, even though I feel like the sport is kinda boring IRL and don't think I've ever watched a match on TV start to finish. Golf games too, oddly chill and satisfying. But yeah try to watch it and I'll go to sleep, guaranteed.

From different genres, "tycoon" games were never for me, but I really liked Theme Park, Transport Tycoon and Afterlife for some reason.

NBA Jam is an example for me as well. I hate basketball but I played and had fun with it, it had a sort of clownish atmosphere where you knew it wasn't that serious/was just about fun rather than being an accurate sports simulation, so it didn't matter if you knew the rules or not

Picrel is the only fun racing game I played

I don't normally play sim games but I sunk hours into this and beat every campaign and scenario on hardest difficulty.

Anyone else here ever play through the full season in NBA Jam or NBA Jam T.E.? That All-Stars team you play against after the last game was fucking brutal.

i didnt even know there were modes. i only remember playing arcade mode or whatever

>> No.10392097

It is the arcade mode. You just input your initials before every match so the game keeps track of wins. After you win against a team, the next match will be a different team. After beating all teams, you get thrown against the All-Stars team. From that point onwards, the extended rosters will be unlocked every time you put in your initials.

It’s really fun in a busy arcade (they are all barcades now). But they had one near my house in Chicago and it had cup holders on it for all 4 players and it was great to try to hold the machine and get buzzed with strangers and boom shakalaka

I generally hate platforming games, although I love Pic Related as well as the Sonic Adventure games on Dreamcast. But anything else? meh
