You joke, but that's what you actually had to do to beat Jet Set Willy. The publisher ran a contest to beat the game in shortest time, but tuned out that there was a fatal game breaking bug in the code. The winner of the contest bugfixed the game and published the instructions on how to fix it yourself in a magazine. He was later hired by the publisher.
