I've never played frontier but I just beat Venus in SaGa2. What the fuck guys, she was a total joke, why would you scare me like that?

Depends what your party is. Venus wasn't bad in my most recent play through because my robot was in front, was VERY resistant to physical attacks, and it couldn't be charmed.

Also both my mutant and human were females so charm couldn't work at all. The only problem was that everyone but the robot was useless because of low damage on most weapons and magic being utterly useless.

Odin is harder, Apollo is much harder, depending on how you approach it the final boss will either be hard or will stop your progress.

Yeah, I planted my bot up front too, my other characters were actually carrying their weight decently.

Though I'm actually getting a little stonewalled just fighting around in the feudal japan world. The race world was a bit of a struggle and I was impatient so I just ran through a lot of battles. Wondering how to proceed from here, I'd love some tips if you got 'em.

All I can say in the feudal Japan world is to explore since you can find both missile and tank instead of buying it from that guys over priced shop.

It also seems that the sword monsters are highly resistant to magic attacks as well which means you need a decent mob attacker like a robot (with needed weapons like grenade, or better yet tank).

Also something I learned recently. You can defend against some physical attacks when you are attacking with tank as well.

There were a couple fights in the race world that had monsters out of your league, especially those floating eyes near the end which you will probably find in the last world.

Also you are nearing the end of the game once you beat this world. An optional world (which you should do because tons of good loot), a familiar world, then the final world.

tips on getting through the whole game? thinking of re-trying this game again.

i remember getting far with Blue and Red on my first try till i rage quit because of a boss i couldn't grind against. second try was much worse since i couldn't get a particular skill that helped me a lot in the first try. been collecting dust ever since.

Explore and experiment. Try to pick up magic quests since you can often find rewards within the places you are going (weapons and armor) along with usually being challenged by the enemies to get decent stat ups and skill sparks.

Try not to grind until end game. Mind magic in Kyo is actually really helpful since it has a spell that recovers ALL of your HP, but can only be used on the user.

Experiment with skills, certain skills give a higher chance to learn a more advance skill.

Always wear sound proof gear. All enemy sound based attacks are nasty.

One more thing. Actual spoilers: before you beat Apollo in the final world save. Why? Once you beat him you are forced into the final dungeon. The final dungeon is very nasty and the final boss isn't forgiving, especially its final form. If you need to go back and get items like tents you are out of luck. Keep two save files for that.

I've put this game on the backburner after getting absolutely destroyed by Riki's final boss (or, more accurately, it's minions). When I go back I'm going to be packing soundproof gear and everything mean I can get my hands on.

Don't kill all of the minions if you don't know already. If you do then the boss will always unleash its ultimate attack.

I didn't find Riki's boss too bad, but by then I had many routes under my belt.

Here i have just finished talking to the Death Lord Rei. After explaining my situation as Riki, he gladly joined the party without hesitation. 4 rings in my possession, I head over to Yorkland to continue the collecting.

I even decided to give Rei a chance and put him in my main group.

I feel like doing another saga frontier illustration, but im not sure what exactly. Yes i can just pick it again like i did with BJ&K, but i have found motivation to be more strong when its a suggestion. I am able to think about the person while i do the work.

Game is incredibly broken though with the Scrap Glitch and Gold Ingot trick.

First go to scrap and pay the money for the junk shop, after getting the items, talk to the vendor and choose to sell the 7th item he will offer to accept, then go back into the junk pile and you get 7 free items, repeat until you get Warlord Armors, Osc Swords, Lethal Guns, etc. Also selling the Repair kits you find in the junk pile will increase the rank of the items you get from the junk heap.

For the Gold Ingot trick, you need 15,000 Credits to start, go to Nelson, there they sell Gold Ingots at a fixed price, then go to Koorong and sell them all, go down to 0 ingots in your inventory, then press up again to reclaim your gold ingots and the Price they will pay sharply increases, then sell most of your ingots.

Do not level up the skill required for Lurk and Move Silently, or find a pit you can jump over repeatedly, or use the foraging, excavation, or mining skills and explore Shiverlands/New Road/Bayre Plateau. Spamming field proficiencies is the easiest way to get Jewels. Jewels are needed to level up classes and skills, this increases chances of learning techniques and reducing BP/DP/LP consumption. If you want to restore proficiency points just stay in the lobby of inns.

Any text in red when tempering is known as Harmonious material. This allows weapons to level up after using powerful techniques that consume DP and nearly breaking the weapon. You can still level it up if the Durability is low, but only if you temper it with the same Harmonious material type you used beforehand.

So for example, if you used Steel String to temper a bow and that was Harmonious, you need to have a spare steel string to repair it.

Doing that with a proficiency is one of the most tedious things to do for the fact you only gain a single jewel and at most you will net 30 jewels before you have to rest at an inn and anything beyond level two or three take a ton of jewels along with the fact you have five characters. It just turns it into a tedious grind which it shouldn't turn into since the game is very doable without doing such things.
