Croc is:
1. Genuinely technologically advanced for a PS/SS game of the era with large areas
2. A good selling game that millions played - 3 million sales putting it up with the PS's biggest played games.
3. Genuinely really fucking lame

All the pieces are there, but Croc is not a classic or hidden gem. As a game it's just kinda boring.

1. The ads talked a lot of smack about other games. It was a cutesey game, but the ads were all "attitude".
2. It sold like 3 million so it wasn't a nobody game.
3. It's genuinely technologically impressive for a PS platformer.
