rip, so young, alundra is one of my favorite games ever.

This man's art is why I love fantasy. I thought it'd not hit me that hard but the more the morning is going by, the more I realized I lost a pivotal influence to my life. Jesus Christ. I became an artist because of his aesthetic. I loved fantasy because of those character designs. Its profound just realizing the silent impact he had on me.

Christ, Man. And he didn't even get a full life. I'm so angry at that. Thank you for everything you did, Yoshitaka Tamaki. You were one of the masters and the world is less for this. May you rest in peace.

Rest in peace. All the different characters in Shining Force was such a highlight of the game. Shining in the Darkness was also a very fun dungeon crawler, loved seeing all the different NPCs at the tavern. Still have to finish Landstalker but the characters in that game are great as well.

Even after playing Shining Force for the first time all those years ago, your art and designs has been my ideal when it comes to fantasy anime art even now. I still have yet to play all the way through Landstalker or even look at your other works but I always have and always will love and look to the way these fantasy series really felt like a fantasy with how you whole heartedly embraced all sort of fantasy races outside the typical elves and dwarfs and made each and everyone of them look eye catching and unique. Not to mention how wonderfully it set up everything else I love (or loved, looking at you Taka) about the old Shining series. Even if my own art style isn't anywhere close to what yours was, you're one of the artist I always seek to emulate design wise if not the main one honestly. I wish I knew about your Twitter and any other active accounts you had sooner so I could have at least caught you more while you were alive. I hope you're family is doing at least a bit better since your loss right now, even if I know it'll always hurt. RIP you legend.
