I liked it better than Silent Hill. Great stealth mechanics.

The atmosphere is top tier and the sight jack mechanic is really interesting but don't be afraid to use a guide if you get stuck later on in the game because some of the sub objectives necessary to 100% the game are extremely obtuse. You'll know what I mean when you'll play the game. I extremely rarely use guides when playing games but I had to for this one.

Oh and I'm talking about the first game. Siren 2 is much less obtuse but I prefer the setting and atmosphere of the first game

>Siren 2 is much less obtuse but I prefer the setting and atmosphere of the first game

For me Siren 2 was by far the hardest one:

- In siren 1 most enemies used to be dumb farmers shibitos. In siren 2 you fight against smart soldiers shibitos.

- In siren 1 few farmers shibitos used to have handgunds of rifles. In Siren 2 nearly all the soldier shibitos have submachine guns or assault rifles.

I wasn't talking about the combat but the secondary objectives you later need to do to unlock other missions. In Siren 2 those are much clearer. For example in the first game you have to do stuff like hiding an escort character in a specific closet in the level and you don't even know it does something until you reach a cutscene later in the level

Ah yes the foremost Second Person-view game.

>In Siren 2 those are much clearer.

To solve a puzzle in a park while there are snipers around, to find a bottle under the earth, to know that a very dangerous female shibito lost a item and find it by luck are some examples that siren 2 is not easier.

Played ever entry. Been to the PS Home Siren museum/hospital. Siren 2 is the best entry.

I 100%ed this recently.
It was clunky and cryptic and unforgiving and I loved it.
I didn't catch the switcheroo with the priest the first time around and thought he just suddenly became a badass for some reason.
I need to find a way to emulate Siren 2 because I hear it improves on everything gameplaywise.

The only ones who turned into badasses are the main character and the woman with glasses.

Really? I thought 1 was a chore to play so tried Blood Curse instead. I'm a few hours in and it's pretty boring so far. Should I just skip to 2?

It does but on the other hand the story and characters are worse than the first game.

I enjoyed it up until I got sent back to the beginning of the game becasue I didn't complete a bunch of cryptic sub-objectives that I never even knew existed.

What, you didn't know you had to wet a towel, put it in a freezer and not forget to also plug the freezer so a completely different character in another mission puts the frozen towel between two pieces of furniture and put a piggy bank on it so it ends up thawing over time and the piggy breaks when falling on the floor to distract a shibito? Git gud

Play Siren 2 it has almost no connections to the first one except one bonus mission(which you will only appreciate if you played siren 1)

and is harder too because in siren 2 almost all enemies are armed with submachine guns or assault rifle.

What gets me about that is that it's completely unnecessary to do and got me killed more than just rushing the shibito behind the door which I effortlessly did first run through.

This game is a work of art man... Probably not a coincidence I love Silent Hill 1 so much since both games were created by the same person.
