When I was little I used a level code for that guy because he always seemed to get me just before the end of the level. But once you get a bit more used to how the dinosaurs handle you can dodge him as the animation starts for his bite animation. It's probably the hardest part of the whole game until you play as human prey.

reminds me of when I was playing the first Uncharted game, I found it so dull and empty that I was like "no wait, there HAS to be something else to this game", so I started exploring the little exploring you could do (which basically meant going on small sections on the side of the main linear road), and there was some message that said "If you're reading this, you need to get a girlfriend" or something like that.
It made me feel like the devs were lazy as fuck with the level design and were defensively acting like "oh what? you wanted GOOD level design!? uuuuh have sex!"
Never finished the game anyway, super boring, can't understand how normies like it, but then again normies like putrid shit, I just didn't knew to what extent of shit.

I was very surprised with Uncharted. I expected it to be a, you know, ADOOLT game, for MATOOR people, but the gameplay was literally brain dead, the puzzles were actual kindergarden-tier (as in, "circle goes with circle, triangle goes with triangle" levels of kindergarden, might even be insulting to kindergarden kids too), makes Zelda puzzles seem like NASA shit.
I also remember starting the game on Hard difficulty, because I knew it would be easy, but then Hard mode only made enemies bullet sponges, not actually harder at all.
7th gen western game design was really something else (and I dunno if it got any better because 7th gen was when I gave up on western devs)

The Sega CD game was great stuff too, it's actually a point and click adventure game rather than an action game where you have to find the dino eggs and put them in an incubator within the time limit. It's pretty hard but not in the sense of "You fucked up an hour ago" bullshit that saturated adventure games back then.
