I only know this movie for that one scene at the diner, and Lost Highway for that creepy scene with the devil (?). Didn't bother watching both films though, because I have a hunch those are the only parts of them worth a damn.

I know you're joking and making a tiktok-attention-span zoomer impression but that "take" is not as exaggerated as you may think. Many people today may never experience classic works of art as anything more than a meager matter of seconds in in a random digest YT video, and their increasingly atrophied ability to grasp the value or even the concept of context will prevent them from even understanding the difference.

>Y-Y-YOU DONT U-UNDERSTAND HOW DEEP D-DAVID LYNCH IS!!!
Do insufferable types like you really exist?. His works aren't deep or thought provoking, they're just shit. The cinematic equivalent of a banana being duct-taped to a museum wall being called "art". Shut the hell up, faggot.

agreed but they are still enjoyable. weirdness for the sake of weirdness is still entertaining and interesting if done well. the first season of twin peaks was amazing, but the second was terrible. it was painfully obvious that he had no idea what he was actually doing, so when he was forced to provide more concrete answers the entire thing fell apart. his style works much better for movies. but yeah, the dorks who study his work as if it is some kind of esoteric philosophy are super cringe.

Yeah?, what else was he referring to then in a post with a David Lynch movie as the main image, responding to my comment about David Lynch movies. Tell me, smartass.

Why does he make you so fucking mad? Serious question. I've been browsing /tv/ for some time now and I came to the conclusion that Lynch is their equivalent of Nintendo. Like you literally aren't allowed to say anything positive about his work and as soon as someone mentions him or his films there are always dozens of posts like yours. I've also NEVER heard any Lynch fan claim his work has some meaning or is deep. I mean he is a surrealist so there are no metaphors or allegories, only objects. Why doesn't your kind shit on Bunuel too as an example?

I'm surprised someone like you exists. Are you really so brainless that you don't recognize art, even challenging art, when you see it? Even if you aren't being serious and just baiting, what a worthless existence you must have.

Anti-intellectuals feel threatened by things they don’t understand and they react by claiming that aforementioned things and the people who enjoy them must be stupid.

>> No.10228293

>>10228284
Calling someone an "anti-intellectual" assumes you are an intellectual to begin with. In fact, the one thing you should always, always be sceptical of is Man's rationality and reasoning. David Lynch's films are nothing more than an exercise in pretentiousness, any "lessons" or "meanings" you can gleam from them are entirely in your own head, and make little sense at best.

>> No.10228627

I'm so fucking tired of not being able to talk about David Lynch without one group of retards going "PRETENTIOUS MEANINGLESS TRASH" and the other group of retards just spamming "LYNCHED"
Talk about the movies or don't, but fuck off with this malarkey.
Mullholland Drive is great, the Club Silenzio scene is captivating.

>transcendental meditation
To keep this vaguely /vr/ related, that group of weirdos had a huge mansion in the middle of nowhere about half an hour outside of Kansas City when I was a kid. They called it the World Peace Capital or something like that. No one really knew about any of this at the time though and there were a ton of wild rumors about the place. I was convinced it must be hiding some kind of lab or other secret facility after playing Resident Evil.
