Fuck the CRTrannies, this is an retro gaming LCD thread
Post your current/favorite flat panel to use with retro games.
IMO, a good flat panel with the following mog the shit out of some smelly 30 year old CRT
> >120hz refresh for software BFI support
>high brightness so you can use BFI and scanlines without a dark image
>1ms response time
>color accuracy
>a lagless line doubling scaler for integer scales, ex. 720p to 4k. Not required since good scalers are now readily availabl3

You can fix everything in a crt except the tube obviously, but those will last decades+ unlike flatscreens constantly shitting themselves, hardware designs that actively prevent maintenance and fragile screen designs that will make the entire thing useless once the screen gets hit slightly hard.

I finally saved up enough to get a TV from Costco last year. It is supposed to be a 720p TV which should be era appropriate for my retro Windows 7 computer, but somehow it is able to do 1080p which is disappointing which may imply it is really a 1080p display that may not do nearest neighbor. It seems to be blurry for 720, 768, and 1080 resolutions. I think Best Buy still has a couple of affordable 720p screens, but there's no research nor information on any of these TVs and their prowess for gaming and I'm already burned on this TV. I have to start saving up again, but this time I want to get the right screen for gaming.

Had a mini led monitor for a month and the local dimming it was terribly distracting.
You need like 8k zones minimum on a 32'' screen (had 500).
And the steps in dimming meant gradients where constantly flickering.

Not in value, the G7 is still a beast for the price.
You'll have to pay much more for a significant upgrade, such as the Neo G8 (4k/240hz miniled), PG27AQN (2k/360hz) or any OLED monitor.

I went CRT > Plasma > OLED for vidya enjoyment.
In my house I still have all 3, I can enjoy for example 5th gen games on all of them in different ways.
But for example playing Tomb Raider for the first time again in 20 years, experiencing it at 4K resolution on an OLED with surround sound and a DualSense controller was an incredible experience. There has to be at least some upshot to living in this shitty future we inhabit.

Cant understand why someone would NOT appreciate having a small CRT for analog consoles, a Plasma for HD-era consoles and the OLED for modern gaming. You could even mix and match for shits and giggles.
