The hardware only has two shitty 80's PCM chips without additional FM chip.
Sega Genesis, CPS1 and many others had FM + shitty PCM combo. Many of the 90's arcade games dropped FM altogether but switched to good quality PCM and sampled music. Osman hardware was just really cheap.

The issue of Wikipedia is a small group of fuckwits dictate what is on it and edit out things they don't like, and so in things that are not like, basic stuff, you get dated or flat-out wrong information which most people won't notice or catch anyway. I cannot say the issue is in general that they are linking to Gawker, but more than they are linking to older encyclopedias and fucking books that are considered outdated.
