in you're opinion, which criminally underrated hidden gem is objectively the greatest of all time (GOAT) retro game (You) should play before (You) die? ;)

>Big fan of TLOZ, LA, OOT, MM
>never player alttp
>Big fan of Metroid 2 and 4
>Never played Super
Somehow I always wanted to save those acclaimed games for later, to play in "the right time" and on original hardware w/ legit carts. I own 2 SNES systems but I don't own these games. I guess if someday I manage to get them... Possibly I could realistically get SM for Super Famicom for a non crazy price, maybe. I'd also play alttp in japanese, I know a bit of the language.
But i'm already 38. Over 20 years have passed since I decided that I would play those games on a "Special occassion". Hope I don't die before I get to them.

Maybe but I was never too cynic, I think I'll be able to enjoy them. It depends more about my own mental state than the games themselves. I at least know they're completely playable and widely acclaimed, so i'm not going to be struggling with them or anything.
I'm now playing Simon's Quest for the first time and I think I will have to resort to a guide already, only got 2 Dracula remains and not sure where to go anymore.

Duke Nukem for the Game Boy Color. I started playing this completely at random one day, didn't have high hopes for it, and it actually kept my attention all the way until I beat it a week later. It's hard for a game to do that to me. I even went and bought a physical copy for $15 I liked it so much.

dude, I'd just say emulate at this point. one thing you don't realize is that while you want to keep it "perfect", you are not getting any younger. you think it's "perfect" to experience Super Metroid or ALTTP when you're 50 for the first time? by that point, your enjoyment from things may be gone altogether. you'll probably say "I'm too old for vidya" at that point. if you're not too busy with dealing work / family / health to begin with.
get a flashcart, emulate, whatever. "it's not perfect" is a great excuse to postpone playing great games until you don't want to do it anymore.

I love Corpse Party for PC-98. It's not a popular series I think, though the modern ones have gotten some traction a few years back, digging the original even further into obscurity because it didn't have the art style, and lesbian undertones, that made the reboot so popular. I love the atmosphere, characterizations and endings of the original, more than anything that came after it.

This anon >>10215589 is absolutely right, though specifically about LttP. Super Metroid is good, it's really the best Metroid game and does unique things that the other games don't that make it special.

LttP, basically doesn't. It really has nothing that would make it stand out specifically against LoZ, LA, OOT and MM, all of which do fantastically richer things with their gameplay and atmosphere. I don't want to let you down too much, but I'd rather you just play it and get it over with, because it really will not live up to what you think it's supposed to be and really is only going to be that enjoyable if you played it before all those other games that each do much more advanced things. Saving it for later is the worst thing you could do to it for the sake of your enjoyment.

I understand what you're saying but I'm usually not very harsh on video game criticism. Like, just because some other games did it "better" doesn't mean I can't enjoy another similar game.
I love 16-bit in general, I'm sure I will be able to enjoy ALTTP when I get to play it. Will it be as magical as if I would have played it when I was a kid? probably not, but that goes for every video game.
I just need to find a good timing for it, like when my mind is in a good space (no stress, no emotional distraught, etc).
I guess... someday... lol

>that VN
The most unforgettable horror porn game I've ever played. No other game had a bunch of elementary schoolers gangbang a teenage girl against a wall. And the teenage girl loved it. No other game I've played had a 17 year old bishonen guy drink a 14 year old girl's piss and chase her down the hall to rape her, only to wind up getting anally raped by a 32 year old fat man. I still remember the scene where a 16-17 girl was hiding under a bed as her same age best friend was having sex with that same 32 year old fat guy on top. She heard every moan, bed shake and sound. In the wrong end she was discovered under the bed by her friend and made to join. A most terrifying scene was when an unwilling girl relives another girl's sex memories. The girl in the memory consented but the reliving girl didn't. It didn't matter that she was mentally screaming, her body in the memory did all the motions and actions as in history. It's like mind control rape except the victim was fully aware. Another scene the same girl and a friend were almost raped in a magic sex ritual, saved by the girl's older sister, and the backlash made the older sister want to rape her younger sister and friend.

The loli in your pic is freakishly lewd and once disguised herself as a teenage girl, fucked a boy until he nearly came, transformed back saying
>You thought you were having sex with a highschooler weren't you? I'm an elementary schooler all along!
And leglocks that boy, forcing him to cum inside her unprotected, when he screams in fear upon learning this. This isn't even getting into the tentacles, the gay sex, the lesbian sex, the incest, the sequel's mother/daughter lesbian scene, etc. The first chapter alone contains lots of lesbian sex scenes with an unavoidable girl masturbating in the bathroom. Truly horror is intrinsically connected with sexuality.

This, anything that good would be well-known. Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee is a great game that I don't see discussed all that often (more so when those garbage-resembling modern games out out), but I don't know if that's because people are unfamiliar with it or what. Similarly, a lot of people I see talking about the very popular Civilization series seem unfamiliar with Alpha Centauri, the spin-off of sorts that IMO blows every Civ game I've played out of the water. Blows most games out of the water, actually.
