Preferred way of playing these games today?
I own the remasters on PC (came in a bundle at some point I think, I don't remember) and the Dreamcast originals (came with the console) but I've never actually got around to playing them.
Japanese voices and faster loading times are swaying me towards PC version, any reason I should play the originals instead?

Space Harrier and Outrun look better on crt.

I can't speak for the originals but the "remaster" (lol) on PC has been great. afaik they made it as close as possible to the originals aside from a couple of licensing issues like Timex and Coca-Cola, which can be restored with mods.

The game gets a lot of shit from the English voice acting, but I think it's very cozy and adds to the game's odd soul.

There's very minor changes to the PC ports, but for the most part they're extremely faithful which is fantastic.
If you've got the original hardware and games, just play those. You get neat little VMU touches (moves display inputs when you're learning for example) and you can access the passport discs which weren't ported to the PC versions unfortunately.
Just remember to enjoy them for what they are. A lot of people go in expecting Yakuza, but it's really nothing like that. Much more of an adventure style game with following leads and exploring.
They're really beautiful games, so I hope you enjoy!

go outside and take a walk, you'll have the same experience you get from these shitty walking simulators designed for autists
or better yet play Yakuza, it's Shitmue but good

Dreamcast, find a copy or emulate it. The HD versions have some stuff that's removed from the original.

It's not a dealbreaker imo

But also if there's some kind of widescreen hack on DC Emulators that's probably good too.

The bad english voice acting added so much to the game for me, I can't imagine playing with the japanese audio. The PC version is fine though, it is largely unchanged and runs well

Aside from very minor details (like just a handful of textures), there are no differences in PC version, so you won't miss anything, and Shenmue does look good in HD desu.
Dreamcast and CRT is of course comfy.
Launch both at the same time, and look at which graphics you prefer, the difference is pretty much only that.
