Thinking about getting one of these second hand.

What are the differences between Opendingux handhelds and, say, Emuelec-based ones? Performance-wise, and especially when it comes to software availability.
I recall there being a huge homebrew community behind Opendingux years ago, creating and porting native games and such. Is Opendingux still a thing? Is there a similar scene for Emualec handhelds?

Also, is there any good non-gaming software for these machines? Media players and so on.

I'm finding it hard to find some information on this, what resolution does the Analogue Pocket take screenshots at? 1600x1440 or 160x144? The only thing I could find was some people saying they had to upscale their screenshots to make it look sharp like their screen did which makes me think 160x144?

Should I get RG35xx or RP3+ ?

I want best bang for my buck. I like the idea of emulating N64 games on the RP3+

Anbernic notoriously reuses the RG350 design for most of their horizontal devices and it would be nice to see something different for a change. just buy it off Amazon, a Silicon Power brand 256gb size card is only about 14 bucks on there which will probably be more than enough space for the kind of games the Miyoo Mini(either original or Plus) would be running, and will probably be cheaper than most any Micro SD card you might find at a retail store that's 128gb or more(and for these kind of handhelds 128gb is pretty much the smallest you should go)

1) I didn't know the dpad was that clicky. it's good for most games, but kinda bad for fighters. is it going to loosen up a little or will it stay clicky forever?
2) Do you just use RetroArch with it or something else? Any recs on settings (vulkan vs gl driver for video and so on?)
3) If I hold the plastic body tight, I can hear a little bit of plastic creaking sound. Is this normal?

Thee Sn30pro controller by 8bitdo. (maybe not for large hands though) You can get it wired i believe or bluetooth. I have played Dynastu warriors 5 empires on it and had it for a year for tons of game testing. I always buy 2 of something in case it breaks and the second controller remains untouched because the first is still mint. (the A button is slightly worn but not an issue and I could probably fix that.

Any xbox or ps 3-5 controller? Never used a ps controller for emulation but it seems like itd work. Theres also the 8bitdo ultimate and such. If you already have one of these controllers, seems cost effective. After that I cant speak as I've not used anything else. Diving through youtube could answer any unanswered questions i imagine.

Trying to play Freedom Unite on my RG353PS. Does PPSSPP not allow two inputs? I want to use the right stick for the camera like I have it on my Vita and I can't find any setup guide to get past this problem.

Maybe two minutes after I posted this, I think I fixed it. Changed the shoulder button function to the triggers, mapped the R3 emulator menu to LB, and was able to map the input with the right stick. So in case anyone else is having trouble, this seems to work so far for me.

I know this is retarded, but one of the biggest reasons I'm excited for the analog triggers on the RP2S is using them to dash in Jet Grind Radio. it doesn't even use analog, you're either dashing or you're not. PS Vita IS NOT just a PSP with a proprietary set of memory cards. The CPU is of a a more advanced ARM-based architecture, has a touchpad, and allows for higher graphics capabilities than any of the PSP models. Emulation wise, it still currently performs the same as the PSP, or at best just slightly above that level. Time will tell when the PS Vita's homebrew scene gets more major progress.

Does not exist, Linux based chinkhelds just work but they don't have enough juice for full DC and PSP, so you're left with Android which requires some setting up and is generally a pain by nature. Closest would be Pocket 3+, maybe the RP2s once the redditors beta test it for everyone else and your friend doesn't mind 4:3.

I have this for tablet play specifically. The microcontroller it uses for the analog sticks is innately bugged, causing massive deadzones on many games. Oddly when paired on a PC via bluetooth, the deadzone issue -sometimes- goes away. It's very hit or miss.

I knew this could happen with such a cheap controller from China, but I was hoping for a few more months...
