Is anybody seriously using this as their retro handheld? Amount of time you need to put into this is considerably more than let's say in installing OnionOS or GarlicOS or JelOS on modern chinkhelds. And even then you just don't have enough buttons to setup comfortable shortcuts for save/load state, fast forward etc. Hell you have to remember to set SRAM auto-save interval otherwise your GBA saves won't actually be saved into the permanent memory.

Not sure if I should wait the rp2s instead - i mostly play snes, gba, and ps so the screen aspect isn't needed or even optimal - but I'm a bit nervous since I was fine with the dimensions of my old 351m (6.7in wide) and feel the 3+ (7.2 wide) would be safer than the rp2s (6 wide). old man hands suck.

It's not a dumb question, but I think the reality is going to be backwards. ARM handhelds with an RK3588 should be capable of running bigboy Linux, and in-turn PCSX2. Granted, the 2 RK3588 handhelds announced so far look around Odin size (Gameforce 2 looks like it might be a little smaller, Orange Pi looks even bigger). At some point, though, we'll have that power in more energy efficient RK chips appropriate for smaller handhelds.

And what did I do with all that? I played 3 PC games my laptop couldn't handle, dicked around with ps2 emulation a little until I realized I don't like any ps2 games, and put the thing on a shelf and haven't touched it in almost 10 months.

There's at least one game here, one of the Need For Speeds, that I've seen someone else run better in the same level, but obviously if you're going through 50 games you're not going to have the most autistically perfect settings for every single game.

I miss the days of just buying a cheap, rewarding, and simple DSiware or eShop title on the 3DS and spending five to ten minutes playing it any time I was on the toilet or had time to kill, like with Boxlife. The only modern title I can think of that has that vibe is Part-time UFO for the Switch because the majority of games like them being made today are just shitty match-three clones or idle clickers/screen tappers. But emulators let me just go through thousands of games until I find one and sticking to it until I'm finished it without the horrors of being subjected to the same three minute long pajeet ads interrupting me testing a game every thirty seconds.

What are some games that are good for small play sessions?
Recommendations for turn based RPGs maybe?
I just beat Chrono Trigger on it with small play sessions and it worked super nicely. I enjoyed it a lot.

Off the top of my head, Chrono Trigger, Illusions of Gaia, and Dragon Warrior NES are the only RPGs ive actually played (aside from Zelda games which dont count)

Horizontal Clamshell is dumb unless you go 2 screen. Too much wasted space.
For the types of games you'll play on this, which is ps1 and older, maybe some dreamcast, the sticks are great for emulator functions.

If they click, r3 = save state, l3 = load state. If you have dreamcast, Right stick up = toggle vmu Overlay (this is what i do on my retroid 3+). For 2D, stick right = fast forward, stick left = slowmo.

As long as they're not where you're going to accidently bump them, they're great for function keys basically.

Depends on what you buy. An RG505 is $140, for example, though even with coupons I'd probably stick with the RG35XX. As for the address, you could just change it slightly by putting down something like "Apartment #1" maybe.
As for credit cards, most will issue virtual credit card numbers good for only 1 purchase for use with shady internet sites, takes 2 minutes to grab one from their website, assuming you already have an account.

I'd suggest watching some youtube reviews. I don't know much about the RG505 other than it's considered decent. The RG35XX is generally considered to have better audio than the MM+, however both devices use a single tiny mono speaker so I wouldn't call either of them good. Headphones would help, but I'm not sure about the audio emulation quality as I'm tone deaf. My singing was so crappy, I was kicked off of the church choir at age 12.

So got my miyoo mini plus and all i found bad that speaker can't do PS1 normal, sound like monural sound. Anything else work fine, dpad soft and nice, beat Hard Corps and Contra 3 on very hard with it no prob. With LR button need to be tricky depends on what state you playing lying or siting, but still in Megamen Zero sword\spear multishot and dashes work fine. Snes retroachivments can be promblem because core which work good with miyoo doesnt't work with achivments, modern snes9x core laggy, older ones i didnt try not a big snes fan.

Hello frens. I am a quite poor Brazilian looking for a handheld to run games up to GBA and PS1. Can also be PS2 if the price isn't too much bigger.
Shill me a cheap chinkheld at a price of at most 1k of my currency, please. I could also try to buy my cousin's Vita, if anyone would recommend that.

1,000.00 Brazilian Reais = 210.94589 US Dollars
The RK2023 is $75, comfortably fits in your pocket, does great PS1 emulation and decent PSP emulation, and has a horizontal form factor. Not the best handheld in the world, but it's my go to recomendation for a budget that isn't a RG35XX. The RG35XX is also good, only $55 when on sale, and can do PSX emulation, but it's a vertical form factor and isn't as powerful.

Hello fren
Fellow huemonkey here.
The Retroid pocket 3 is around 1000 huebux
Alternatively depending on what smartphone you're carrying you could just look into installing the emulators directly on it and just buy a high quality telescopic controller like the good morning gamesir X2 pro for 350 huebucks.

Don't bother with the Gamesir X3 because the shoulder buttons are not analog and the gimmick fan needs a external power source.

If you just want to play GBA and PS1 games get a RG35XX. Don't buy from aliexpress or shopee because is certainly it will be taxed.
Buy from amazon BR because the import fee is already included in the price, so you don't have to pay extra taxes.

Paying a little more you can get the RG351P. He is great for GBA games because of the screen aspect ratio.

Glad to help lads. I assume the VC label just means the rom was dumped from the wii VC, I doubt it hurts anything. Also gonna list a couple more I found noteworthy in some way

>Alien Syndrome
>Godzilla: Kaijuu no Daishingeki
>Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon S
>Coca-Cola Kid
>Fantasy Zone Gear
>Fray
>Griffin
>Wangan Land
>YuYu Hakusho

Alien Syndrome obviously isn't an original game and gets brutally mogged by the arcade version (as do the other home version), but what makes it interesting to me is the fact you can pull up the map anywhere using the pause menu. Godzilla has a Master System version with much better res, but the color difference makes it pretty obvious it was made for GG. I'd play Sonic 1 & 2 on Master System over GG, but not this. Wangan Land also has a Master System version. Sailor Moon and YuYu Hakusho (first one) are, as far as I can tell, not downports of anything and actually look pretty good. Fantasy Zone Gear is just called Fantasy Zone in the west, but it's apparently an original game.

Fray runs like shit by default, so if you're playing on an emulator you're gonna want to crank the CPU speed to 150% or something.

In the realm of gaming, a nostalgic delight,
Behold the SF2000, a handheld's true might,
With pixels refined and colors so bright,
It conjured memories of an era's resplendent light.

A portal to the past, it takes us back in time,
to a golden age of gaming, when joy was prime.
The clink of coins in arcades, the joystick's sway,
Now captured in this handheld, preserving yesterday.

Its compact design fits snugly in our palm,
A treasure trove of classics, a gaming psalm.
From platforms to shooters, RPGs galore,
Each game a masterpiece, leaving us craving more.

The buttons dance beneath our nimble touch,
As we guide pixel heroes, oh, so much.
The screen a window to worlds pixelated,
Where challenges await, both fierce and unabated.

In the depths of dungeons, we quest and explore,
Puzzles to solve, treasures to restore.
With each victory won and each boss defeated,
The SF2000's allure is ever repeated.

No need for modern frills or graphics so grand,
For it's the gameplay and memories we demand.
The SF2000 embraces what we hold dear,
Remind us of gaming's legacy, crystal clear.

So let us raise our voices, and homage we sing,
To the SF2000, a retro-gaming king.
It carries the torch of bygone days,
Igniting our hearts in a nostalgic blaze.

The Retromini has better GBA performance but I feel the Retromini was specifically made for GBA, and GB/GBC emulation. Although I do play some GBA titles on the SF2000, I mostly use it for a NES/SNES/Genesis device and introducing friends to the retro emulation market by letting them play my SF2000 and giving them recommendations on how much they like it and what specific games they want to play.

The wireless controllers, which I bought after getting an SF2000, work well enough. They're not perfect but they're really good. They feel a bit awkward, an inbetween of the original SNES controllers and the SF2000's size and design.

I do not own a v90 to compare.

I will say I only bought the wireless controllers, and the ones that I did buy (because there's now five variants with the red ones with Switch joycon analog sticks instead of d-pads being just permanently unavailable shortly after releasing) just because of their cheap price, to make it more convenient to hook up the SF2000 as a game console and just use the wireless controllers for two-player shit like Street Fighter 2 on the TV. I'll share the link to the cheapest ones I found, but you should browse about for the specific wireless controllers you might want. As far as I know, there are classic SNES controller ones, the classic SNES controllers with handles like the ones I got, the black ones with handles, the Mario-red ones with analog sticks instead of d-pads, and another "SF" SNES styled one that is usually bundled with Data Frog's USB drive console.

>>10108456
>>10108483
I'm surprised more people haven't bought these, but it might be due to people just going for sellers that sell the SF2000 with one or two wireless controllers and initially buying what they want. And me buying the controllers separately is probably a niche market within a niche market. But with the discounts you receive, if you feel you want a wireless controller or two of them with your SF2000, I recommend buying them as a bundle. Because even at $15 for two wireless controllers, buying them with the SF2000 usually leads to the controllers only costing $4-5 each.

I mean $15 for two is still a steal, but if you think you'll want them, just buy them with the SF2000 to save bucks.

You can just switch the SF2000 off with its power switch. The wireless controllers use one AAA battery and do a good job of only being on when the device they're connected to is on.

Also pic of the elusive, still heavily advertised but no longer available, red wireless controllers with analog sticks.

You can change it to normal 16:9 with some pillarboxing in the settings. I don't see how that's worse than Pocket Air because the display on XP Plus is much bigger, almost 7 inches.
>Also it looks like they've finally gotten rid of all their stock, look at prices now on ali. especially the official store on ali, kek.
We'll see if this is permanent. But even then, it just makes Pocket Air more of the same. The fact that one could get the exact same performance for the exact same amount of money EARLIER makes the device unimpressive in my opinion. I believe that technology should constantly evolve and break barriers. If not pure performance, then at least performance per dollar should improve. If they sold it globally for the same $140 that they sell it in China, that would be something. As it stands right now, I have zero interest in this device. IMO even something like Retroid Pocket 2S is more impressive because it actually challenges performance per dollar barriers by offering almost the same performance as Retroid Pocket 3+ for much less money.
