I like the Talkie Edition. Even though the visuals of the remake were awful I think they nailed the voice acting. So having that audio modded back into the original feels like the best of both worlds.

And as for MI2, they learned from the last time and made it so voices work in the old graphics so just play the remake. Though I think the remade graphics in 2 were much better than in 1.

Correct. Same is true for Loom. EGA graphics are the original, and the VGA graphics are a poorly recolored version.

The concurrent version of LOOM is actually the worst. The whole game is fully voiced, which seems cool until you realize they had to strip out a lot of dialog in order to fit it all on the disc. And there's no environmental music that plays as you play. It's total silence as you walk around

Depends on your experience. If you grew up playing the originals, which were text only, it was a bit of a shock when Guybrush was given a 'Murican accent. I'm happy with the text only experience personally, but the voice acting on the remasters is great.

In general, the original EGA version is the best. But I like the Iain McCaig portraits of the VGA version too.
