When I was a kid, the stoned death animation in the final boss battle freaked me out.
Picture this: you made it all the way to the trollish villain. You're so close to saving your honey. Then a slight misjudgment gets you caught in something. That's okay, you can-what? You're stuck! Your feet suddenly feel so heavy. The sensation slowly rises from your lower body. You panic. You're getting turned to stone, and unlike your girl who's frozen in bliss, you're conscious about it and actively suffering. It's happening so fast. So close yet so far. The sensation has reached your chest. Vital organs are going fast. What do you do? Hold your breath and hope for the best. But it's too late. Before you know it, you're a statue. After everything you've gone through, this is how your adventures end.
