One of the best games of all time, idc fight me. It felt weirdly adult and didn’t pander to your child self. This game fucks, and if you wanna hang you better be able to do lines with it.

In an era where games started being concerned about being fair and reasonable for the player, not Landstalker. Landstalker wasn’t just hard - it could be downright cruel. It gave no fucks about your little ten year old thumbs or fragile straightforward synapses.

Hell, most people got filtered in the first hour because they couldn’t cope with the nonstandard control scheme. But for those who stuck with it, it never let up. Like an abusive parent who kept making life hard on you, but also nodded proudly whenever you emerged triumphant, this game stood tall.

Landstalker is a masterpiece. And you can even play it on the Switch these days with a genesis replica controller.

I beat this game in January this year and loved every moment of it.
The platforming is cancer, no way around it but with a bit trial and error I managed just fine, I'll get to Alundra some time this year after I'm dobe with Secret of Mana

I enjoyed watching my dad play through this game, when I was a kid, but for some reason, I can't get into it, these days. I wonder if getting a Genesis USB controller would help.
