Been using my vita a lot as of late as a PS1/PSP handheld with some GBA emulation too. I also recently got moonlight to work on it to stream Dolphin, PCSX2, steam etc from my desktop. My biggest issue is I keep touching the rear touchpad when I don't want to and that gets annoying quick. Grips with L2/R2 buttons are also very expensive. If there's anyone here that's used them, are they worth it? Or should I just use the money plus more and get a RP3+?

Recently I finished both of them on my RG35XX and it was great.
Played some Psycho Pinball for the Mega Drive last week and then finished Bomberman 3 today.
I don't know how I endured those transition for each level when I was kid. Even with fast forward that shit was taking to much time to go for the next level, meanwhile Bomberman 1 and 2 for the SNES was great in the transition for each level. Well, at least was fun to replay, but beating 1 and 2 for the first time was more enjoyable.
Next I'm probably going to play a Goof Troop hack, DKC3 or Mario 3 for the NES.

most likely it's a DC blocking capacitor on the audio output just before the speaker. it fills up and makes a pop sound through the speaker when you turn the console on

also, I had a DC blocking capacitor go bad in a DMG-01. The symptom was extremely low sound. It was so low that I thought there was no sound until I put my ear directly to the speaker.
I confirmed the cap went bad and developed high ESR, which limited the output reaching the speaker. Replaced the cap and the gameboy sounds great now.

The RG353PS and RK2023 use the exact same processor (specifically the RockChip RK3566) and have the same amount of RAM.
The psp is generally harder to emulate than the dreamcast, so if 90% of psp games work, 92% of dreamcast games will likely work. Below is a youtube video showing a bunch of psp games on the RK2023.
The vast majority of them play just fine, with 1 or 2 exceptions. The person playing used the default system settings for each game, and likely could have squeezed out a few more fps for the games that didn't work well with a bit of tweaking.

RG35XX has 5 hour battery life, a little taller, and HDMI. Miyo Mini+ has WiFi for retro achievements and could probably run moonlight or something. The RG35XX also has a better CPU and double the RAM, but this doesn't seem to effect performance as much as one would expect, which may just be an issue of the custom firmwares not fully taking advantage of it yet.

I know that anon warned us last thread about the K101 but mine was already on the way and it was a gift so I can live with it. I'm just downloading them directly onto the deck (well - onto my SD card in the Deck) in desktop mode from Vimms at the moment. I started doing PC and them moving them over with a USB stick, but it got pretty tiring.

Works a lot better if you have a USB-C hub with a wired network port in though - the wireless on that thing is pretty temporamental.

If you're being more virtuous and ripping your own from disks you legitimately bought however, can imagine that is a bit of a pain; you might be able to plug a CD/DVD/Bluray drive in via USB in desktop mode?

That's a pretty massive change in itself m8. That said, it also has the Vita style d-pad from the 3, start and select added above d-pad and face buttons, back and ??? buttons added next to home, bottom controls (sticks in this case) offset towards the screen for better ergonomics, slider swapped for a proper analog stick, and just in general the sticks look different (caps look concave? and base is completely different). The face buttons also look like they might be the ones from the Flip, which would be great as I hated how they connected underneath on the 2+.

I don't expect bottom control usage to be as comfortable as on Vita, but I appreciate it at least has some offset unlike Anbernic's stuff, or 99% of chinkhelds for that matter.

That actually didn't happen on the 2+. Well, at least with my hands and grip it didn't. I don't think that's something anyone complained about but I could be wrong.

I think most of us just put up with the 16:9 aspect ratio because (almost) everything else about it was good including screen quality. It was definitely a boon for PSP though, yeah, but generally I prefer a taller/more narrow aspect ratio when given the choice.

Contra. Crouch then rock the d-pad a little forward/backward to see if you get accidental diagonals. Then load streat fighter and try to do any move that requires quarter circle movement, such as the hadouken, to make sure it's registering diagonals smoothly.
