I uninstalled and never played again, though I plan to again sometime. I preferred the setting and visuals to Diablo's which was overly grim.

Having to find skill items was a bit strange but I remember it being a really cool game, all the characters were interesting and the world was fun to explore.

I remember finding some severed animal head that could be used as a weapon in the very beginning and then using it almost until the end because the thing was so powerful.
A nice and, at the same time, a pretty weird game. Also some monsters were just plain ridiculous.

One cool thing that distinguishes this game from the sea of Diablo clones is that almost every character has a jump or flight spell that you can use to take shortcuts across the game world jumping over cliffs, rivers and maze walls and get into places you're not supposed to.

Been playing Sacred Underworld on and off again recently. If you're gonna play it on a modern PC setup then you might want to play it with the pureHD engine mod to make it run in 16:9 resolutions and optionally dgVoodoo if the old Direct3D API gives you performance problems (also recommending this plus dxvk if you're playing it on Lunix).

It’s German Euro-jank that barely runs, even on contemporary systems. I played a few hours of this and never looked back. Combat feels horrible, but at least it has a cool soundtrack. I try to get someone to play the sequel with me every few years, but no one wants to because the series is terrible.

It's good, but it gets tiresome.

I always get bored of it after 10 levels or so, regardless of the character played.
The game has some neat stuff in it, but it's so boring to play.
