My CRT and Windows 98 box weigh about 25kg combined. Is that going to fuck up my glass table if I put them on it for usage?

Your safest bet would be to test the table with your own body weight.

>> No.10062659

>>10062617
The manufacturer should give the maximum weight the table can support.
25 Kg isn't that much, it should be fine.

That doesn't really sound like a good idea anon, 55lb is a lot for a glass table. Just buy a nice wood or marble one... better yet an actual TV stand

Yup, the thing about glass is it gives you no warning. Wood will bow and show signs of stress giving you time to clear shit out before something goes very wrong. Glass meanwhile will just fail out of nowhere.

>> No.10063729

>>10062617
Don't do this. If the glass breaks (and it could happen any time) your CRT will fall through and if the tube breaks, the implosion isn't fun to clean up after. Do yourself a favor and just don't.

>> No.10063775

It's funny how one of the minor complications of using a CRT today is finding appropriate furniture to put them on now that electronics have become so small and light.

Fortunately I had a rolling TV stand to put my NEC monitor upon which. Not yet sure how to yet set up my old PC setup, because for which I do yet not have a space for a secondary desk which may be suitable upon which to have the PC and monitor for to place.

CRT monitors create strong furniture.
Strong furniture creates LCD monitors.
LCD monitors create weak furniture.
The cycle continues.

Wildly depends on what you're doing.
If you're doing Win98, it will be fine. Win95? No.

Depends on whether you care about it being period correct or not. It's way too big if you're going for that, but Windows 98 won't have any issues with a drive that size.

just get a few boards and some screws and angle brackets and build a shelving unit yourself inside the apartment
it'll look very plain but that's okay you're a 4chan user nobody expects you to have nice furniture
then when you're done using it one day you can just unscrew everything and put it out as trash or something, easy easy

Given the table is only a frame supported design the glass is likely toughened so if it breaks it'll just disintegrate. Your computer won't break it, but if you smack something on the edge or whatever it will shatter. I wouldn't do it.
