I wanted to mod my console to have two wireless controllers. Wireless mic in the p2 controller. Charging backs that come out of the back to charge the controllers in their cradle. Rgb mod. It was just too much work. I'm thinking about disabling the mic all together and saying fuck it. Just rgb mod and two wireless controllers. Maybe buttons in the cable holes on the back for pairing different controllers. The expansion port reserved for wired controllers like the joy card. So basically, fuck the microphone, and fuck the eject lever because they're too much work and are useless.

Donkey Kong Jr. is nice, I like the variety of movement options compared to the first one.

I just beat the first Saint Seya

I first played this game at another kid's house some 23-24 years ago and seeing a Saint Seiya game seemed the coolest shit to me at the time. But this game is textbook licenced shovelware with broken mechanics, even after grinding to max stats, I don't know how you're supposed to beat the final stage without using what feels like an exploit (losing fights on purpose to replenish power little by little)

Might just be the only RPG released on NES in Europe as well for all I know, and the mechanics aren't complicated, but they are obtuse and you wouldn't know what to do without the manual or a guide.
I had fun anyway and it can be cleared in just a few hours, I'll probably check out the sequel too

DK Jr. may be one of my favorite games for the system. I just replayed this at your reminder, here (after playing through (until Game Over) Donkey Kong, Popeye, Mario Bros., and Super Mario Bros., and earlier, coincidentally after unlocking Mushroom Kingdom in Smash Bros. (not remembering today's anniversary, prior)), and it's just so much fun. I like a lot more than the original, because it reminds me of playing it on Animal Crossing and my mom getting me an e-Reader back in thr day with it included, and also because the mechanics (of the speed on the vines depending on how many you're grabbing and the jumping from vine to vine, especially) remind me of DKC (probably by design, right?), besides the impressive and funny cartoon graphics like when Junior dies and walks with different sprites per movement.

Played on this back in the day along with zx spectrum clones. I wish I had them back, dunno were they went.

Popeye is decent fun. Though I feel like the Big Guy can take some real cheap shots at you, like he can just jump over levels to hit you.

Finished putting my Famicom into its shell after months of putting it off. I put the rgb mod into it so some changes had to be made for it to fit. Also did some general maintenance and fun stuff. It was a wonderful time because it was the anniversary today, it was a comfy project, and because there was a delicious domestic argument happening above my garage, between my neighbor and her black boyfriend. It was like a solar eclipse of wonderful things all happening at once. Also my joycard sss arrived, which I cleaned and swapped regular Famicom controller membranes and buttons into. I have a box of Famicom controllers as extra parts because it was like 10 bucks on eBay. The joycard was supposed to be broken so I got a great deal on it. After a normal cleaning, it works perfectly. Played some kirby's adventure and Japanese kid Icarus today with my new controller. Pic related. Happy birthday Famicom!

I just played the translation of this on a whim from my everdrive. It's really fun, kind of gives me wario ware vibes but it's just a fun little action sidescroller where you play as the pizza cat team and fight crime. If you want a kill an hour, great little game and overall not very difficult
