I think the Saturn is a heckin' good system with good games and it's way too derided in the west. I'm just discovering it now thanks to emulation and it's full of fun games.

No, that was the Genesis. We also got a lot more 2D games than those two, but that doesn't matter anyway, because it's not a 2D console.

Don't make console war threads as if you're a brainless 13 year old that can only pick 1 (one!) console to get on his birthday and then tries justify his choice with brand affiliation. You're an adult with easy access to either option.

Virtua Cop? There is a superior PC version. Sega Rally? There is a superior PC version that works flawlessly on win10. Same with Daytona.

That's my main problem with Sega Saturn.

I recently tried to play Panzer Dragoon Saga and the graphics were horrid.

I feel like that can be said for a lot of consoles even today though. There's almost always a PC version that is just better because it's on PC

Never played it but a lot of people said it was a mediocre port. IIRC it's a straight port from Saturn.
From wiki:
>The Windows version was less well received. Critics generally commented that the fun gameplay is still wholly intact, but that the conversion lacks many features standard to PC racing games[21][29][32] and suffers from mediocre frame rates except when playing in low-resolution mode, in which case it instead suffers from having lower detail and more pixelation than the Saturn version.

Like OP here, I got into Saturn recently. I'm enjoying it so far, but fuck paying the kinds of prices that the games are going for. So I picked up a burner and a spindle of blank discs. Does anyone have any tips for getting a good burn? It's been hit and miss for me so far. Some games work fine, others don't. I wasted 3 discs on the english patched Symphony of the Night, to no avail. Yet the english-patched Bulk Slash works fine as far as I've played. I've had no issues with any of the 2d fighters I've burned so far, but Burning Rangers and Road Rash freeze randomly during load screens and cutscenes, and in Road Rash the music cuts out randomly during menu screens. Metal Slug is plagued with almost constant slowdown, but that may just be normal for that version of the game. I'm using Verbatim CD-Rs and writing the discs at 1x speed, if that matters.
Sorry to hijack your thread OP, but I figured the board didn't need a 5th Saturn thread. Looks like you're already playing most of the games that I would recommend checking out with the limited time I've put into the console, but Bulk Slash is another one I'd recommend trying. I'm playing on actual hardware, so I'm finding it interesting to play the Saturn versions of games I grew up playing on PS1 as a kid, but since you're emulating, you probably may as well just stick to the PS1 versions of those games in most cases.
