That is kind of impressive, since I only really knew them for Lemmings. Hard to imagine they'd turn to them all like "yeah, those Lemmings developers should lead us into the future".

After all the Sony TVs, music players, VCRs, etc. that my family had, it was a very trusted brand. It was at a fair price right when the SNES was starting to lose some steam. I was already aware of the Nintendo and Sony failed partnership, but it was impressive enough to give it a chance, and seeing the Final Fantasy 7 commercials during episodes of Rurouni Kenshin pretty much justified it had a great future coming.

Merry Christmas /vr/. I get to clock into work later today, I guess that's enough of a gift.

Hope yours was better than mine. I enjoyed the Merula thread on /s4s/ which I don't remember if it was this year or last year ut it was a fun one time visit.

I didn't have a Gameboy at the time. Still don't, but now I do have a Super Gameboy 2 and I'll look into the game. I did enjoy the games on console and in the arcade and I had great memories playing (and showing them off). It was my fault I was ignorant of the portable space but from the video footage, the GB release does look good.

I forgot to get the two Saturn games in there. Maybe next pic.

I never claimed my taste in games were good. I think I enjoy games enough when I push a button and shit happens.

Worked on the holiday combined with the following week's new year's holiday such that my upcoming paycheck will be as close to 80 hours worked for two weeks as possible. Multiplied by the amount of take home pay after taxes, means I have saved up 1/6th of the Black Friday price of the Xbox One X I had wanted for the last few years. I hope I can save up enough to join the current generation by next Black Friday. I was at least comforted that others got the tacos they wanted for their Christmas meal they had to get from the place I worked.

Christmas gift from the family. Was a total surprise as the box was significantly smaller than any console I had before it.

The games I remembered that I really enjoyed a lot were Final Fantasy Tactics, Valkyrie Profile, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Suikoden 1&2, Silent Hill, Resident Evil 1&2, Alundra, Parasite Eve (never played 2), R4: Ridge Racer Type 4, Einhander, Star Ocean: Second Story, Omega Boost, R-Type Delta, Metal Gear Solid, Bloody Roar 2, Klonoa, Bust A Move: Dance & Rhythm Action, and Bust A Move 2: Dance Tengoku Mix.

Unfortunately, my Playstation died, and I swapped over to enjoying and preferring the Saturn. I have since gotten a couple of PSone systems to enjoy the games again.

I remember a story/rumor that Sega of America bought out the remaining stock of the plastic long boxes available, in hopes to screw over Sony and give themselves an edge in the US market. So to adjust, Sony switched over to the cardboard/plastic long boxes, before ultimately using the much cheaper CD jewel cases.

This better be ready when I die. While in hospice, I'd want one strapped to my eyes, as it is the proper way to go because all I see is shit now.

I am still surprised my family all chipped in to make it the best Christmas ever. It died on me and I switched to being a Saturn fan with its cheaper games. I read here that the 1001 were the audiophile's choice, I kind of want one again just to hear for myself (and my memories had the PlayStation with standard AV jacks built in).
