Sounds sorta similar to DoomRL Arsenal, but I'd imagine with less item management. Maps designed for vanilla as well as OBLIGE aside, how is the mod on its own?

Also, how far back is Z& compared to GZDoom now? Running either of these mods over LAN might be interesting but I'd hate to deal with the latter's shitty netcode.

This is why. The netcode dev likely grew up with shit internet in a country where the telcos still sell plans based on data than actual speed.

As somebody born in New Zealand though, I can assure you internet data at least got cheaper in the past four years while everyone else in the bigger cities now has fibre. I still don't see what's making the dev not switch over to a client/server architecture for one of the biggest source ports.
