Wouldn't env_sprite and monster_furniture do the same thing? Neither can be interacted with directly, if I remember right.
...Thinking about it though, env_sprite makes it easier to fake the battery getting picked up. Imagine Gus grabs the thing and goes "huuuhhh?" when it does nothing. Unless it's a key item he needs to power up his forklift or something.

Nothing would happen to the harassers because they have their tranny groomer clique asspatting them while Term would get an extra target painted on him.
Leaving and doing his thing somewhere else where the groomer isn't active is probably the best choice he can do.
