If I want to play something 2D, I go for a SEGA styled controller thanks to their d-pad and the 6-button layout, if I need a diamond layout though, then PlayStation's often quite good. Now, for 3D it depends, 1st person it's fine, but I prefer that layout Nintendo went with for the Wii U, though the PlayStation layout is serviceable, but when it comes to 3rd person it doesn't feel as good and the asymmetrical layout is more comfortable. As an all rounder though, DualShock is the best still.

I liked the design for Playstation One. It's still the same shitbox, but at least it looked cool.

The original Dual Shock PSOne (slim) might be my favorite controller of all time and system design. I just love the look and aesthetic of the unit as a whole
