I didn't but it is not advisable not to. I got Chinese versions of the flashcarts because I couldn't afford the price of the legitimate ones. The problems with these Chinese versions range from missing features, high probability of catastrophic failure, supporting a regime with unfavorable policies towards business and minorities, with disdain to foreigners, and their pride in scamming people outside their country. While it is a premium for the flash carts it would be worth it alone to avoid all those risks. Besides, there's always emulation which is another way to go about playing your favorite games again.

The Capcom Power Fighter Stick works alright. The stick does feel modern with its clicky cardinal directions but the buttons are a bit scratchy instead of smooth. It works for both the SNES and original Famicom with the bundled cables. The FXpak Pro allows for MSU-1 games in addition to SuperFX games too, but I lack the funds to afford one so I only got to play around with a Chinese knockoff SD2SNES which does not handle MSU-1 games at the correct balance levels. I only have a few GBC games, and I only had a Gamecube to play them which was well after their time.

You are right. I did not edit my prior post and the meaning was distorted to something completely wrong. I meant it could play some ROMhacks that has translations or quality of life improvements.

I think there is a mod for Mega Drive to run in 60Hz, so that is a possible avenue to save money. I have a Super Retro Trio which used to go for $60USD and it has a toggle switch on the front for region switching, however I have not tried any PAL titles to say but NTSC works fine with it.

More modern ones are probably better. The one I have could not play Castlevanaia 3, but it has been reported the recent ones with native HDMI output can play CV3 without issue. While I would prefer the real thing, the clones get the job done when you're on a budget.

It is unfortunate I couldn't afford the expensive Ukrainian flashcarts and went for cheaper Russian-enabling Chinese bootlegs, but I put that squarely on the employers of the US not offering a living wage.

It is a Super Retro Trio by Retrobit. It plays NES, SNES, and Genesis games, plus with adapters it can play Gameboy and GBA games too. The controllers are nice SNES shaped Genesis controllers.

There is this device called a Super Retro Advance Adapter which allows you to play GBA games with a SNES. It has its own composite output which can be plugged into an OSSC Koryu, but it is mono only. As a bonus, if you have a RetroUSB console that plays SNES games, it does not need to use its included cable and can simply use the output of the RetroUSB console. It is not as good as GBi, but if you are on a tight budget, and want to output GBA games to a screen, it is a budget-conscious alternative.

When they are all that are affordable these days to play retro games, they will have to do. I really wish I could afford the Analogue NT for all the cores it offers in RGB, but that is marketed as a luxury item for the rich. Consolidating multiple consoles not only saves money, but space too.

I have been looking into those Chinese aftermarket GBAs with the brighter screen and custom shells in the original horizontal form factor. They are over $100USD, and I have no idea if they are any good or if they have the right multiple in pixel count. It is a lot of money to spend on a Chinese knockoff.

I like Ninja Five-O since it is really fun speedrun. I use a Super Retro Advance Adapter since it is an affordable option to play the games.

I am not concerned about reselling, as I intend on using it. It is true though, that Analogue really knows how to push the FOMO. I wanted the clear SNES, but could never save up enough to get it, and then they just discontinued it to make it a collector's item. That's why I am debating if I can absorb the debt just to get the portable and dock, I am not sure they will continue to produce the portable, plus I realized I'd probably want the DAC too since I have more analog displays. Their products just get increasingly more expensive and out of reach for me.

>>6667498
I was not into portables until much later. Had a TurboExpress and I really got one with a NGPC. I preferred to display portable games via a console to a larger screen like with the Gameboy Player and Super Gameboy 2. I did not have the foresight to get a Super Gameboy controller for the Super Famicom, but the Gamecube back then had a tiny D-pad which was not great for average sized hands. Thus, the Hori controller still has an A and B button plus a larger d-pad which works pretty well to me. While I do prefer the feel of Sega Saturn controllers, SNES styled controllers are pretty good too.

No, I used to date a girl from BR which was as close to that as I got. In case for 4chan: no, I cannot prove she's always been a girl but her stories and equipment would indicate that she was. She was a cheating bitch anyway.

>>6580409
It may be, but I would like to enjoy some emulation of old games and some modern games too. Plus it would be easier to post here with a full keyboard instead of using my phone.

>>6580674
I am not proud of it, but as explained, the Chinese stuff is all I could afford. The Chinese flashcarts do allow me to play a lot of games and even some ROMhacks.

Why is that controller's bluetooth unable to work with Windows or Steam?

I have the older version without the HDMI output. I do leave bootleg flashcards in the device at times. It only powers on one system at a time so I don't think they do any damage.

It plays games from 2 of my most favorite consoles, the NES and SNES. It shows that whoever gave you the present must've thought you enjoyed those two systems as well. Mike Tyson's Punch Out! and Contra are a couple of my favorites as well and you should have a great time.

It gets the job done on a budget. I like how the Super Retro Advance does not need to use its breakout AV cables only if plugged into the Super Retro Trio.

The Super Retro Trio is what I use since it is the most cost effective way to enjoy the games I kept from my youth. NES and SENS systems are $100 each and the Genesis sells for $20-30, so having all 3 systems in one $50-60 package is nice. A bonus with the Super Retro Trio is that the GBA adapter does not need to use the breakout AV cables and can use the system's default AV outs. The older ones don't have MMC5 compatibility nor HDMI out, but has two SNES shaped controllers with Genesis pinouts! The newer ones gain MMC5 compatibility and HDMI out by has uglier controllers to SNES out. Since the Super Retro Trio has component and S-video out, light gun games work with CRTs!

The best choices are probably getting the Analogue NT mini, Super NT, and Analogue SG separately. If I had the funds, I would go for that.

The primary problem with the Chinese bootlegs are that they cannot be firmware upgraded. You are locked into the the feature set it comes with. They may lack the quality control too amonst other issues.

>>5722407
The Chinese GBA flashcart I got uses emulators to play GB/GBC games on the GBA-to-SNES adapter. I think it was because of the form factor that the GBA shell does not hit the button to activate a GB mode. That's why I got the GB one for the Super Gameboy. There is a lot of hassle one has to live with going the chinkshit route, but if you can afford it, it is best to buy the real thing to avoid these issues.

Never was able to afford the handhelds back then, so playing them in a consolized or emulated form is fine for me. Discovered a lot of great game that way which I was not able to. An added benefit of using a controller that is more comfortable to me.

A great way for a new generation to enjoy the games I used to with higher fidelity video and audio without the worry of old hardware needing repairs. The SuperNT is probably the best SNES clone out at this time.
