He's (partially) right about one 3-minute meme scene in a story long enough to be 9 movies or several seasons of a TV show, which is a pastiche of Empire Strikes Back where Darth Vader provokes Luke to come rescue his friends by torturing them. Except Krelian puts the gears and Chu-Chu on crucifixes. If you're invested in the story at that point, it might be a minor immersion break, but unless you're a self-conscious manchild playing on a twitch stream it's easy to just move on.

The game is full of text. It can be slow. It belabors some points that could have been made implicit. It has a lot of flaws, especially late in the game when the storytelling is rushed and done with storyboards + text. Maybe the amount of 90s edginess will kill it for you, maybe not. Some can't take it and immersion is permanently broken. Others love it and are inspired to make something like this:
