One of my favorite RPGs. If you haven't found the hidden tower yet, explore Rykros until you do. There's a cool secret there you might have missed. It's not hard to find, but I didn't know it existed until years after I first beat the game.

I understand this, and admit I didn't know what a lot of spells during my first playthrough. But I think it added some flavor too. Names like Foi or Saner are more interesting than more obvious names like Fire. Reminds me of Shin Megami Tensei spell names.

I played through with several characters, but my favorite thing to do is to play it with only four characters. That's my PS4 hard mode.

I just wish the core series got a bit more appreciation mostly and honestly if the game wasn't gonna be set in the Algo system I wonder why we even call it a PS game at all. I mean change some enemy and skill names around it's effectively it's own thing. It doesn't even relate to the colony ships from 3.

Im not wholly sure Id call it underrated.

It's not as stupidly hyped up as a lot of SNES games but pretty much any genesis fan or fan of JRPGs from that era will say it's one of the better games out there

Hm yes, the Hunter's Guild quests. The very first one can be missed (Ranch Owner) but not until close to the end of the game. The Dog mission and most of the other commissions can be done at any time. The final mission is unocked way later in the game, but can be missed so be vigilant.

Dezolis also has other facilities like Motavia's Plate system where you can get new gear and attacks for Wren (all optional) but that'll have to wait until after you return to Dezolis w/ the Ice Digger. You can also find a secret cave with a surprise cameo and one of the most useful weapons for Rika.
