Have you ever seen "Man of the Year" short from Sonic Jam? If not, I recommend you to do so.

After you do that, try to remember that Western Sonic lore is one hell of a mess created by Sega of America autists while japs weren't looking. And that japanese canon never ever denied humans in it. In fact, they were there even at early stages of development (see pic rel).

Then I'd suggest to feel ashamed of realization that you're an actual retard who was sonicpilled by SoA in their childhood.

After reading the Console Wars book, I realized that Sega of Japan didn't deserve success. Sega of America basically turned the company into a juggernaut it became on good marketing alone, but SoJ mostly just sat on their asses and argued about everything from Sonic's overly busty girlfriend to Pico's fucked up price tag, producing shitty hardware left and right, in the end even dumping Sega 32X (a thing that was laughed at in SoA's offices) on SoA's shoulders because the Japanese developers couldn't be bothered to finish the damn thing ever since Saturn's development turned into a complete disaster. SoJ were so fucking incompetent that they almost lost Yuji Naka right after he developed Sonic 1, with SoA stepping in and promising him greener pastures in the US because they knew how invaluable he was.
They had great game developers, and great people working at Sega of America, but everything else about Sega was a complete trashfire in hindsight.

Also Sonic one has that japanese arcade game spirit of that period going. They could have totally released that game as an arcade only board. That's how polished it was. Where as sonic two was just rushed to make lots of money on the american market before christmas.

>Madonna was supposed to be a love interest for Sonic back when the original game was still in development. She was a blonde haired skinny human woman in a form-fitting red dress and was actually going to be Sonic's girlfriend.

>She was supposed to chase Sonic around like Amy Rose does in current games. She was first designed by Hirokazu Yasuhara, as a very attractive woman who would chase Sonic. She was later removed by Madeline Schroeder, her reason for removing Madonna was that she wanted to "soften" Sonic for children and foreign countries, because she thought it was too "Japanese".

I always pictured Pauline as really vapid and indifferent kinda offsetting Peach's goody-goody nature and Daisy's tomboyish nature. Pauline isn't even a princess and, in my canon, acts like one.
