I suppose (actually still need to play that one, but as I'm playing them in order I still have two more before that one). Still, I've seen a fair amount of people voice a disliking for the ones after 3, though as this is /vr/ I suppose it's not the most relevant place to discuss the PS2 entries. Hopefully I still have a good time with it though. Been a good ride so far.

Can't speak for Threads of Fate as I still need to play it myself, but Wild Arms 1 and 2 are quite good in my experiences. Only real big issue is that 2 needed a bit more editing with the translation to make it sound less awkward (and the translation quality only gets in the way of progress maybe once or twice, notably with a puzzle in a late game dungeon).

Just don't hold the first game's early 3D battle graphics against it too much. If you ask me they have their own charm, and even if you dislike them, Media Vision did improve on them in later games like 2.

I also have really enjoyed 3 on the PS2, though that one's not /vr/. If you like 1 and 2 give it a try.
