All the time, since I often play on consoles just because it was cheaper than the PC counterpart.

I prefer Chrono Trigger on the SNES as I would rather play without the animated cutscenes of the Playstation version, the extra dungeons of the DS, and I am not in need of all the accessibility features of the modern console/PC/phone releases.

I like the US Final Fantasy 2, even though it is the "easy type" because it flows better.

I routinely play the original Playstation release of Final Fantasy Tactics over the more robust iPad/PSP release because I like lines like "Blame yourself or God".

Same, but the lack of space is really constraining. If only they chose to package the games with something better than cardboard.

I did because I had to value what little I got. With little money and so few options, I was taught to maintain and treasure the few blessings we had.

At the back with the 2x2 space for the big chocobo. It is just access to your storage inventory. You will get a free big chocobo in your space ship later on, so don't worry about the carrot.

Yeah, they were all doing the best they could for their lives, between loyalty to the crown/state, their faith, or their economic fate.

Well, my next favorite is Final Fantasy 2 US (JP 4 easy type). I do like Tactics more. The original 1 on NES was alright, I remember it gave SMB3 a run for its money months on end on the top 30.

I prefer the original. "Blame yourself or God" was a better, more memorable line. I do miss out never knowing that Mustadio had a thing for Agrias. Like Chrono Trigger, I feel the animated cutscenes don't add to the experience since it replicates what was done in-engine.

In the SNES days, my policy was you can't go wrong with their games. Everyone loved their games. However, I first felt the first crack in the armor with Final Fantasy 6 (3 US). I can't find the old Ogopogo Examiner newsletters they used to send out to me. I have them somewhere.

The game remains as my 2nd favorite Final Fantasy after Tactics.

It was my 2nd SNES game after the pack-in Super Mario World. I chose the game partly because the original Dragon Quest (Warrior) was one of the few games I never beat (due to weekend rental) and surprisingly I did not like Dragon Warrior at the time, but the nagging feeling that I never beat it made me think I should try the JRPG genre again. In playing Final Fantasy 2, I always thought the game underwhelmed in terms of graphical polish and did not push my new SNES, but the flow of the game suited my pace.

I remember a trade show where Square was showing off Final Fantasy 3. I asked their representative about 5, and they said that they planned on releasing it in the US as "Final Fantasy Extreme".

I got Final Fantasy 3 when it came out, and I enjoyed it, but got into debates whether it was better than 2, and the primary thing others offered for how 3 was better was just "graphics" but that nagging feeling for me 2 (4 easy type) was better just because I feel it was paced very well and was more fun to me.

I played both Final Fantasy 2 (4, easy type) and Ultima 7: The Black Gate around the same time. Made me finally love the RPG genre when Dragon Quest (1) failed. Still surprising as I had not read much on either game in magazines and just blind purchased (and "borrowed" Ultima 7 on PC).

For SNES I only have the first one. The box was super preserved by my grandparents when I left it there until now when I got my hands back on it. Don't think I took a picture of my non-boxed SNES games together. Also my Zombies Ate My Neighbors box and manual is really messed up (cart's okay).

No, I just opened it with a knife back then. I just didn't throw out the wrapping.

I love the game one of my most favorite games even, but personally, I'd rather Square-Enix not do a sequel nor remake until they can prove to me they are able to do the game justice. Prior to Chrono Trigger, I enjoyed Final Fantasy 2 (4), Final Fantasy 3 (6), and Secret of Mana such that I saved up to make Chrono Trigger my first ever preorder. Has Square-Enix done much recently to give you confidence they can make a good remake or sequel?

Then again, I am very old, and I accept that fact keeping my memory of Chrono Trigger as I remembered it: the SFC original and SNES Woosley translation. I never played (but do own) the Playstation version with the new animated cutscenes, nor do I have a DS nor iOS/Android for the new dungeon(s?). I feel those experiences are improved for the new younger generation. Similar to how I am fine with the SegaCD Lunar games, the story I experienced may be very different than what the kids now like, and good for them to enjoy better. If they remake it, it'll be for a new generation.

Maybe the new "I am Setsuna" is pretty good, I just won't know but I did catch that it is heavily inspired by Chrono Trigger. Maybe you should check that out. I also heard the new Final Fantasy is pretty good, and they intend on remaking 7 in a similar way. So it may be possible Square-Enix is able to do the game justice.

Chrono Trigger is one of my most favorite games. I never did play Radical Dreamers. I enjoyed Chrono Cross quite a bit, but of course I am a bit swayed by nostalgia to prefer Trigger and Cross is unable to live up to it. What system is the sequel to Chrono Cross on? I seemed to have missed out since I've kind of quit getting new games.

I want to start on Chrono Trigger: Crimson Echoes and Crono Trigger: Prophet's Guile sometime too when I get some time.

As stated, aside from music and cool intro, I think Gaiares either has your ship move too slow or too fast with nothing in-between. For the Genesis/Mega Drive, I would say go for Musha Aleste or Thunderforce 4 instead, but those are costly now.

I too loved my SNES, unlike the Genesis, you can choose a random SNES game and 60% of the time it'll be a good game. Whereas the Genesis has the 5% amazing stuff which is costly now, but an ocean of pure shit.

As for box art, SNES never does give me the same extreme highs and extreme lows Genesis boxart had. I attribute that to the dulling effect of the large black borders.
