Someone has been working on getting a more up to date version of VBAGX working on the Wii. It apparently just updated a day or two ago with 240p support for both GB/GBC and GBA games.
Shantae is working full speed and the Sonic Advance games, which were quite slow in WiiMednafen without frame skipping seem to work pretty well; Not quite stable full speed without skipping, but much improved.

Remember to enable both 240p and fixed pixel mode, or else you'll get the same stretching that old VBAGX had.
